Joe Jonas gets candid about using injectables and we love him for it
There’s nothing we love more than a celebrity who’s honest about their beauty routine. From Bella Hadid’s nose job to Amanda Seyfried’s wrinkle patches, there’s no shame in the tweakments game. So when Joe Jonas opened up about getting cosmetic injectables, we sent him a million virtual high fives.
Some gents are dismissive about using a men’s moisturiser, let alone actually seeing a professional about their skin. But in an interview with PEOPLE, Jonas says he’s found a new level of confidence after using cosmetic injections to smooth out his fine lines and wrinkles. So much so, that the 33-year-old has partnered with Xeomin — a brand of anti-wrinkle injections.
“I don't think it's necessarily something that we have to shy away from," he told the publication. "We can be open and honest about it and be confident and not really shy away from speaking our truth.”
Our inner Camp Rock fan girl is swooning.
After trying out Xeomin to tackle his frown lines, Jonas said, "I liked that it relieved the area a little bit and I was like, 'Okay, this is great,' without it being too much for my liking.” Adding that he appreciates that it wasn’t ‘over the top’ — “It’s very light.”
Despite injectables being considered a treatment as common as waxing these days, it’s still a fairly taboo subject, particularly among men. But Jonas believes the tide is turning and we sure hope he’s right.
"There were all these talks at one point, like, 'Oh, men can't do this or it's weird for guys to do that,' and I think there's a stigma that's fading, and I like that," said Jonas. "Guys are more openly wearing makeup, and it's great to see. It's like, do whatever you want, you know? It's a beautiful generation that we're living in."
As for the rest of Jonas’ skin care routine, he’s a big fan of Kiehl’s and loves to use the Facial Fuel Eye De-Puffer ($39 at MECCA) to tackle signs of tiredness. Consider this our official petition for a Jonas Brothers 'get ready for bed with us' YouTube video.
