Lila Moss has been gifted with supermodel genes, but that doesn’t mean she’s immune to looking tired or puffy before a runway show.
To prep her face for a busy fashion month, Moss likes to stick to a select few products that she knows works for her sensitive skin.
She's also partial to a facial with her aesthetician, but she's not afraid to haul a** to Face Gym or whip out a gua sha for an at-home buccal massage, if the occasion calls for it.
Plus, with personal ties to some of the biggest names to have graced the runway, she has a handful of beauty tricks up her sleeve to enhance her natural beauty without needing to apply a stitch of makeup.
Want to know how she stays runway ready during the lengthy four weeks of fashion month? Keep scrolling, this is Lila Moss' runway skin care routine.
She sticks to a simple, sensitive skin-friendly routine
"Before each show, I like to do the rituals that I know are mine — like using my own moisturiser, my favourite lip masks and under-eye patches," she recently told Fashionista.
"To come out of character, I've started using an oil-based cleanser to take off my makeup," she explained to the publication. "It's especially nice if the makeup artist's used a lot of eye makeup that isn't going to come off easily."
"I'm currently using Bioderma [Sensibio Micellar Oil Cleanser Makeup Remover for Sensitive Skin] ($20.39 from Chemist Warehouse), which just melts everything away and leaves my skin feeling a bit more plump. It's a lot nicer than rubbing your face with five different cotton pads," she went on to say.
Although, she has confessed she's open to trying other oil cleansers — all in the name of research of course.
"Skin care has always been a really important part of my day. I have quite sensitive skin so my skincare routine is quite simple," she dished in a Vogue Beauty Secrets segment in 2022.
"This is a cleanser from my dermatologist [Dr. Sam Bunting] in London," she said, referencing Dr. Sam's Flawless Cleanser (approx. AU$37 from Dr. Sam Bunting). "It's similar to Cerave [Hydrating Cleanser] ($14.39 from Chemist Warehouse), which I use when I run out."
"It doesn't foam or have any scent because I have quite sensitive skin, but it's really nice," Moss told Fashionista. "It feels like I'm fully cleansing my skin without stripping it."
She also uses Dr. Sam's Flawless Moisturiser (approx. AU$57 from Dr. Sam Bunting), which she described as "really hydrating, kind of thick" and "especially important" step for her skin in winter in her interview with Fashionista. But she has admitted that she likes to make sure her skin is damp prior to applying it to help with absorption.
"Sometimes I'll also do a facial spray from Caudalie. I've been using [Caudalie Grape Water] ($31 from Sephora) forever," she shared.
She loves a facial treatment
Moss relies on celebrity facialist Keren Bartov to prep her skin for fashion month, but she also makes a monthly visit to Bartov's London clinic to maintain her clear complexion.
"She is amazing. She has really great machines and red light therapy and I just feel really good after I go see her," the 22 year old gushed to Fashionista. "I tend to also have a facial every month just to kind of reset my skin on a regular basis, even when I'm not preparing for fashion month."
"For fashion month specifically, I love FaceGym," she shared. But when she doesn't have the time to book an appointment she relies on treatments that are easy to do at home.
"I've been doing a lot of icing my face lately, especially because I've been really puffy from the heating in my apartment… [and I] give myself an at-home face massage," she explained.
"I definitely love to do a mask," Moss told Fashionista. "I love the 111Skin sheet masks especially."
If you're not familiar, the brand's best-sellers are the 111SKIN Cryo De-Puffing Facial Mask ($150.05 from Net-A-Porter), which awakens tired, puffy skin; the 111SKIN Y Theorem Bio Cellulose Facial Mask ($158.88 from Net-A-Porter) repairs and soothes stressed skin; and the 111SKIN Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask ($158.88 from Net-A-Porter), which enhances radiance.
The 22 year old has also shared her love for the brand's eye patches ($168 from MECCA), which she usually applies before a show.
"I also love doing them on planes, any early morning, or when I’m just feeling a bit tired," she told Vogue. "They’re gold and sparkly and cute."
She conditions and defines her lashes with lip balm
Naturally, being the daughter of one of the most recognisable models in the world, Moss has learned a thing or two about how to amplify her beauty without plastering on makeup.
To achieve her fresh-faced look, Moss said she likes to ditch mascara. Instead, she curls her lashes with the Tweezerman ProCurl Curler ($59.95 from Adore Beauty) and defines them with some lip balm.
"After curling my lashes, if I don't want to use mascara, I like to use Aquaphor ($11.14 from iHerb)," she told Fashionista.
"It feels especially nice in the winter when your eyes are a bit dry, but it's also great for a no-makeup makeup look," Moss explained. "It also really helps your lashes stay curled and 'up'. We love Aquaphor."
Obsessed with memorising the skin care routines of models? Yep, same. Did you know that Emily Ratajkowski's skin care routine includes a retinol alternative she raves about?
