Listen, we know that in the grand scheme of things, 'red carpets' really shouldn't really be on the list of things we're missing most during isolation... but we can't help it, okay? Celebs just turn it on ten times over when there's an actual carpet to walk, and our beauty inspo boards benefit from it big time.

Because while our favourite faces have still managed to serve some strong looks via Zoom, there's just nothing like seeing them attend an awards show physically (and safely, of course; all necessary precautions have been put in place to ensure health is still the number one priority).

So, without further ado, here are all the hottest hair and makeup moments from the 2020 VMAs, from Ariana Grande's white eyeshadow to Bebe Rexha's metallic mani...


Miley Cyrus

Cyrus' red lip and winged liner combo may scream 'classic', but her modern mullet cut adds edge.

Bella Hadid

Hadid's 10 Things I Hate About You-esque updo accentuates her piercing liner-rimmed eyes.

King accessorised a smokey eye and sleek strands with a pair of glam gold hair pins.
