5 viral TikTok hair colour trends you need to know
TikTok is the epicentre of modern culture, which is why it’s also the happy home of some of the best emerging beauty trends of the time.
It’s where we first learned about the butterfly haircut, and its subsequent shorter sibling, the butterfly bob, the birthplace of the unapproachable makeup trend, and our go-to search engine for reviews on potential Dyson Airwrap dupes.
Naturally, it’s also the app we turn to when we’re looking to try a new hair colour.
Landys Chemist dutifully crunched the numbers on our behalf and discovered that there are currently five hair colour trends dominating BeautyTok.
Keep scrolling to discover the five most viral hair colour trends on TikTok right now.

Amassing 167.2M TikTok views, Bronde is the season's biggest trending hair colour, and the light brunette shade is a favourite of celebrities too.
The muddled hue is a happy middle ground between blonde and brunette, offering the versatility of moody muted brown tones and the brightening effects of blonde, minus the high-maintenance upkeep that comes with a head full of foils and bi-monthly root touch-ups.
2/ Cowboy Copper (145.6M TikTok views)
@circlesofhair COWBOY COPPER 🤠🧡 What is it?! A mix of a warm, light auburn hues with subtle hints of gold 🌟 Perfect for a change in tone or for those not ready to fully commit to a vibrant copper colour 🙌🏼 #hairsalonperth #hairdresserperth #perthisok #copperhairperth #cowboycopperperth #hairtransformationperth ♬ Point of View - DB Boulevard
An evolution of last year’s copper hair trend, 2023’s trending red is Cowboy Copper, “a rich and buttery caramel tone that falls midway between brunette and a full-blown redhead”, says Landys. “With over 14M views on TikTok, this popular colour has become a trending platform filter and is set to become even more popular.”
3/ Auburn Brunette (111.3M TikTok views)

Apparently TikTok is seeing red, because Auburn Brunette (another popular red-leaning shade) is dominating the app right now with 111.3M views on the platform. “This warm-toned, reddish-brown hue leans more towards brown, complimenting all skin tones and is a low-maintenance style— as far as red hair goes,” explains Landys.
4/ Beige Blonde (56.9M TikTok views)

Still committed to the blonde life? Beige blonde is a neutral-toned, pale and sandy take on the bright hair colour that’s complementary on people with pink undertones in their complexion. If you’re especially fair and struggle to find a shade of blonde that doesn’t wash you out, this is the trend to try.
5/ Chocolate Glaze (36.3M TikTok views)

Chocolate Glaze is the most sought-after brunette shade this season due to the fact that the glossy brunette hue can resurrect damaged strands and restore them to their healthy glory. “Debuted by Hailey Bieber when she traded in her blonde balayage for a classy chocolate brown, this shade has quickly grown in popularity,” says Landys.
