The $300 facial behind everyone’s glowing skin at the Met Gala

BRB running to Mecca

Ever catch yourself staring at red carpet photos of celebs fresh from the makeup chair and wonder where they get their glow from?

That’s exactly what we did after we saw the steady stream of radiant celebrities arriving at the 2023 Met Gala.

And after doing some digging we found out that a handful of our favourite famous faces — Florence Pugh, Suki Waterhouse, Stephanie Hsu,  Julia Garner, Priyanka Chopra, Sienna Miller, Grace Elizabeth, Ariana DeBose, Ashley Park, Kelsey Asbille, Tom Sturridge, Ivy Getty and Naomi Ackie — had all been treated to the same $300 face-freezing facial from FaceGym.

The must-have Met Gala FaceGym facial

According to a statement released by FaceGym, the must-have Met Gala ‘workout’ was the Cryo Contour facial ($300 at MECCA).

Described as a fast-track way to rewind time, the treatment works to “freeze away ten years in five minutes” and incorporates a “full face workout for intense hydration and contouring”.

“It starts with the FaceGym Signature Sculpt massage ($150 at MECCA) followed by a high-pressure shot of frozen CO2”. This “powerful concentration of oxygen, atomised active ingredients and hyaluronic acid hydrates, plumps and locks in moisture”.

“Fast, effective and pain-free. It only takes five minutes to activate blood microcirculation, stimulate collagen and elastin production, and visibly improve your skin's texture,” the brand said in a statement. “After the workout, FaceGym’s high-performance skincare is applied as part of the recovery cool down, leaving the skin looking and feeling lifted, rejuvenated and youthful.”

FaceGym Cryo Contour Review

Priyanka Chopra gave her Instagram followers a behind the scenes glimpse post-facial prior to the big event, looking very relaxed after what we imagine was a lengthy and intensive facial massage.

While celebs have kept mum about their personal thoughts on the facial, we’ve been lucky enough to experience it ourselves.

Honestly, we’ve never looked as snatched or as glowy in our lives as we did after receiving the FaceGym Cryo Contour facial, and we don’t suspect we’ll be able to achieve the same results with a gua sha at home.

Though we’re not ashamed to admit we're unwilling to part with $300 on a bi-monthly basis, we won’t be shy about booking in a few times a year for a seasonal refresh.

We’d also recommend bookmarking this treatment as a potential birthday present to yourself or a loved one — we think it’s well worth the price tag.

Fresh, glowy skin wasn’t the only thing we noticed at the Met Gala this year. Florence Pugh shaved her head just for the special event
