Madelyn Cline took to the 2024 Met Gala red carpet with a face full of pharmacy makeup
She’s making a name for herself as a budget-beauty lover…
While we might be waiting oh-so-patiently for our Pogue-Princess (AKA Outer Banks starlet, Madelyn Cline) to return to our screens (later in the year, we hope), we’ll take any sighting of her we can get. Thankfully, Cline made our dreams come true with an ethereal appearance on the Met Gala red (or green) carpet.
We’re not ashamed to admit that we may have rewound the red carpet footage multiple times to watch her float across our screens in attempts to get all her makeup deets. Luckily for us, Jennifer Luney Tioseco (Cline’s go-to makeup artist) provided the goods.
When talking about the inspiration for the makeup look, Tioseco wanted to create “something soft, fresh and whimsical”, which definitely fit the “The Garden of Time” theme to a tee. But there’s a secret behind the gorgeous look….
It’s been completely created using one of our pharmacy/supermarket fave brands: Revlon. Yep, from brows to lips, you’ll be able to recreate the look for less. If that wasn’t exciting enough, guess what? You can snag the look at 40 per cent off at Chemist Warehouse, right now…
Glowing Skin Base
Imagine our surprise to find the one and only Review Crew-loved, Revlon Illuminance Serum Tint ($23.95 (usually $38.95) from Chemist Warehouse) among Cline’s line-up of Met Gala must-haves. The gloriously lightweight serum tint created a flawless base for Tioseco to then apply a wash of skin-brightening Revlon ColorStay Skin Awaken 5-in-1 Concealer ($15.99 (usually $26.95) from Chemist Warehouse). It was a common theme across the night that everyone was hot and sweaty (we’ll blame it on the blaring lights), but Tioseco managed to keep Cline’s makeup set in place and totally budge-proof with a great thanks to Revlon ColorStay Blot Matte Setting Powder ($19.69 (usually $32.95) from Chemist Warehouse).
As for the subtle blushed glow Tioseco turned to a mattifying rosy-toned powder blush. The pick? Revlon Powder Blush in ‘Naughty Nude’ ($16.69 (usually $27.95) from Chemist Warehouse). Is any look finished without a wash of glimmering highlight? In our opinion, nope. Thankfully Tioseco and Cline agree. So they opted for a classic, light-reflecting glimmer with Revlon SkinLights Prismatic Highlighter in ‘Twilight Gleam’ ($16.69 (usually $27.95) from Chemist Warehouse).
Ethereal Eyes & Bold Brows
Fun (or not so fun if you’re Cline) fact about Cline’s gorgeous siren-like eyes. The star actually used to hate them, thinking that they were too ‘buggy’. But through spending time in the makeup chair, experimenting with different looks and liners, she learnt to love them. And of course, she now channels a world of sultry energy through them, and we couldn’t be more here for the switch-up.
As a nod to her statue-like outfit, Cline and Tioseco chose to create a very structured white shadow look. Okay, so the exact palette isn’t actually available at Chemist Warehouse, but fear not, you can still snag the doll-eye-aiding option from Catch. The white shadow that Tioseco chose was from the Revlon ColorStay Day to Night Eyeshadow Quad in ‘Moonlit’ ($13.15 (usually $26.95) from Catch). Tioseco then finished off Cline’s long lashes with a lick (or two) of Revlon So Fierce! Big Bad Lash Mascara ($14.99 (usually $24.95) from Chemist Warehouse).
Finishing off with a Cline-approved defined structured arch, the duo chose to use the Revlon ColorStay Brow Pencil in ‘Blonde’ ($17.39 (usually $28.95) from Chemist Warehouse).
Luscious Lips
Look, we’d be lying if we said we didn’t think often about Madelyn Cline's lips. Is it a weird thing to admit? Definitely. But when the pout is that perfect we need to know every. single. product. And that’s precisely what we’ve found for you. Defining and lining Cline’s iconic lips, Tioseco took the ultimate nude lip liner, Revlon ColorStay Longwear Lip Liner in ‘Nude’ ($14.99 (usually $24.95) at Chemist Warehouse) and topped off the look with the perfect pinky nude lipstick Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in ‘Bare it All’ ($16.69 (usually $27.95) from Chemist Warehouse).
Madelyn Cline, you’ve done pharmacy beauty product lovers proud . Don’t mind us, we’re just popping over to Chemist Warehouse to stock up on all the goodies.
