Lily Collins’ makeup-free selfie is our favourite one yet

With the upcoming release of two new movies, a book and being one of the current faces of Lancôme (along with Victoria’s Secret angel, Taylor Hill), Lily Collins is a busy girl. So, when the star posted a makeup-free selfie on her Instagram account, we couldn’t get over how flawless her skin was. Not a blemish in sight, no uneven skin tone or dark circles, just perfectly glowing skin. Either she is blessed with the most unbelievable genes we’ve ever seen, or she has a skin care routine we need to get our hands on.

She captioned the image: “Fresh skin, makeup free. Let the evening begin…”

Thankfully, in interviews last year with the New York Times and Hello! Fashion magazine, the actress revealed her most trusted skin care tips, as well as the products she swears by. Consider us sold!

"My mum always removed her makeup at night and taught me early on about the importance of taking care of your skin, especially when you’re travelling or extremely busy, because it’s so easily affected by your surroundings and health,” she told Hello! Fashion.

The star credits splashing cold water on her face in the morning, as well as using products from the Lancôme Energie de Vie line. “I feel [the products] brighten, and the finishes aren’t sticky. I use the facial wash, the toner gel and a cream,” she shared with New York Times.

At night-time she revealed, “I do the same process, but depending on how dry my skin is, I might do one of the Lancôme Génefique masks. If I’m feeling dry, I’ll also put liquid coconut oil on my body.”

Happy to embrace her porcelain complexion (despite living in sunny LA), Lily always takes the utmost care to protect her skin from sun damage. “I always put on sunscreen,” she said in her New York Times interview. “I’ve been using a Kiehl’s sunscreen, which is super-light and doesn’t have a fragrance.” 

Despite constantly filming and attending red carpet and press events, Lily’s off-duty makeup motto is “the less there is on you, the less there is to go wrong.” When she does choose to wear a layer of foundation, she swears by Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow because it provides her with the perfect amount of coverage and luminosity. “The important thing, especially in LA, is that nothing looks coated on. You’ve got the sun and pollution already, so you don’t want more stuff clogging you up.”

We can’t decide what we love more – Lily’s fresh-faced no makeup look, or her bold beauty looks, like the time when she dyed her hair fiery red.
