Get Kim Kardashian’s sun-kissed coral lipstick look

We can’t go past this bright lip colour

Whether you’re a fan or not of Kim Kardashian, the truth is… she seriously knows how to work a red carpet. And regardless of her sometimes questionable fashion choices, it’s her makeup that prompts conversation and debate in the Beauty Crew office. The latest look we’re coveting is this one right here - a casual appearance at famed Hakkasan Nightclub in Las Vegas, that called for her signature caramel glow, lots of lashes and mascara, and a bright coral lip to pop against her monochromatic outfit. Follow these steps below to get the same makeup look at home...

1

Prep your face

Hydrate and prep your skin with an illuminating primer (such as Mecca Cosmetica Lit From Within Primer) all over.

2

Create a canvas

To extend the longevity of your eyeshadow, prep your eyelids with a nude coloured cream shadow (like Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Leather Eyeshadow in Creamy Beige). As this colour sets quite quickly, use your fingers to pat it on, instead of a brush.

3

Sweep on some colour

For this look, you’ll need a brown eyeshadow quad to contour the eyes, such as Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in Fallen Angel. Work the second darkest shade all over your eyelid, then follow with the medium brown colour along your lash line for a slightly smoky effect.

4

Highlight your peepers

Pat a small amount of the lightest shade onto the inner corners of your eyes with your pinky finger to brighten the area.

5

Tightline your eyes

Line your entire top waterline and half of your bottom waterline with a black long-wearing pencil (like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion) to define your peepers.

6

Add some drama

Kim Kardashian is known for her super long lashes, and the quickest way to achieve this is with a set of false lashes. Look for a style that’s double-layered for extra volume; ModelRock Lashes in Miss Misfit is great for this occasion.

7

Define your lashes

Combine your natural lashes with the set of falsies using a black mascara (like Rimmel London Wonder’Full Wake Me Up Mascara). Then, without dipping your brush into the container again, coat your lower lashes with the leftover mascara.

TOP TIP: Always coat your upper lashes before your lower ones to avoid applying too much product and your mascara clumping.

8

Create some shape

Shape and add colour to your brows with a coloured pomade (like Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown) and an angled brush; starting from the area that requires the most filling. For most, it would be the arch and tip of the brow. With any leftover product on your brush, use light upward strokes to create more shape at the start of your brows.

9

Add some coverage

Apply a dewy foundation (such as Lancome Absolue Fluid Foundation) all over with a foundation brush, concentrating on the centre of your face, and blend outwards. Switch to a smaller brush (a concealer brush works well here) when you’re working around tricky areas like your brows.

10

Cover it up

Touch up dark circles and blemishes with Bobbi Brown Retouching Wand. Apply it straight from the sponge, then use your ring finger to pat it in.

TOP TIP: The warmth of your finger will help the product melt into your skin, creating a seamless finish.

11

Shade it in

To complement your brown eyeshadow, add a similar tone to the rest of your face with some bronzer (like L’Oréal Paris Glam Bronze La Terra). Apply this straight over your brows and under your eyes, as you would if you were sun-striping.

12

Add a pop of colour

Swipe on a coral lipstick straight onto lips, and go for a product that has a glossy sheen to it. Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in Potent is a great pick for this look.

13

Perfect your look

Using a lip pencil in a matching colour (such as Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Lip Pencil in Pink), etch around the lips to perfect the shape. Clean up any feathering with a cotton tip dipped in moisturiser.
