The lowdown

The clump-free formula: Like we said before, clumping is one of those endless frustrations that can put a great mascara in the 'never again' pile. And thankfully our REVIEWcrew members found that this provitamin B5-rich gel-like formula provided a seamless application. Heck, our members were able to keep on piling it on without their lashes turning to thick clumpy spiders legs, which brings us onto the next point our members loved...

How buildable the mascara is: Look, we all know those days where you just need a little more oomph. And building your mascara for some serious fluttering length is going to make you feel on top of the world. But it often comes with dreaded clumping. Thankfully clump-free and seriously buildable go hand in hand with this mascara. Our members saw their lashes shoot up with a bold high-impact hit of it.

That every lash gets covered: If you've ever coated your lashes to perfection and then gotten a closer look at them only to realise half of them never even got to meet the mascara wand, then this is for you. I was lucky enough to try the Maybelline New York Firework Mascara as part of a Review Crew and in all honesty I am glad I did because I will absolutely be repurchasing it when this one runs out. The hot pink tube is bold and looks great, better yet the bright colour means that I can always find it in my makeup bag with minimal rummaging around. The brush is absolutely brilliant - it is firm enough to swipe through your lashes, but the tip is flexible which means that when you brush it through it bends to the contour of your lashes to make sure it covers each and every one of them with the mascara and fanning them out nicely. The mascara itself if smooth and glides on leaving no clumps and as someone who normally builds their mascara this is something I appreciated. My lashes are really short and this lengthened them well in only one application but I soon worked out that it is a very buildable mascara, on my second application they looked thicker and by the third they looked brilliant. At less than $29 this mascara is really affordable and to be honest it was nicer to use than the $55 mascara I was using.

This mascara is my new favourite! I usually go for waterproof mascaras only as I hate how I end up with panda eyes with most normal mascaras by the end of the day. Can happily say that the Maybelline Firework Mascara did not smudge and leave me with panda eyes YAY!!! I actually haven't been happy with a mascara in a long time be it a $12 one or a $50 one. I have tried them all and can safely say I love the Firework mascara! The formula has a nice glossy consistency and can be layered safely without leaving my lashes looking clumpy and spidery. It looked like I had a lash lift done. Like others have said, the mascara can give you a natural look or a more glamorous look depending on how many coats you do. It definitely lengthens more than it thickens, I also felt the curl was held quite well.

I wore the Maybelline Firework Lash Mascara for work everyday and when I went out on the weekends and the first thing I noticed was that it immediately lengthened and flared my lashes. If your looking for defined, flared and lengthened lashes, this is your mascara. I absolutely loved the wand because the brush tip was movable as you applied the mascara so you didn't miss any lashes and it made the product easy to apply and work into your lashes. It was easily buildable and didn't leave my lashes clumpy. I'll definitely be recommending the product to my family and friends.
