The perfect makeup balance between glam and low-key
Copy Zendaya’s glowing look for your next night out
If you’re mostly into natural and radiant makeup and find yourself at a loss for what to do with your look when it comes to getting ready for a night out or special occasion, feel lost no more. We’ve scoured the Internet and red carpet arrivals and have discovered the perfect look to recreate.
Striking just the right balance between glamorous and natural, Zendaya’s glowing makeup will help bring the pizzazz you need without compromising your love for something that’s not too over-the-top.
Here’s how to copy Zendaya’s makeup look the next time you’re getting dressed up.
1
Start with a good base
A glowing complexion always starts with good skin care, a primer that will see your makeup last all night, and a foundation that’ll help achieve a radiant base.
After you’ve cleansed and moisturised, smooth COVERGIRL TRUblend Makeup Primer Combo Skin over your face. While your ultimate goal is luminous skin, you still want to tone down your shine, and this long-wearing formula will minimise oiliness and smooth the texture of your skin to ensure your makeup stays put for hours. Follow with COVERGIRL TRUblend Liquid Makeup foundation for a flawless and natural finish.
2
Give your eyes a touch of glamour
Your eye makeup is the key to upping the ante on your look, but the trick for keeping it balanced with the rest of your makeup is to stick to neutral tones.
Using the COVERGIRL Eye Shadow Quad in Go For The Golds, apply a wash of the dark brown colour over your lids and in an almond shape around the outer corners of your eyes, bringing the hue beneath your bottom lash lines for a smoky look. To add the gold flecks, use your fingertips to gently dab COVERGIRL Bombshell ShineShadow by LashBlast in Gold Goddess on the centre of your eyelids and the centre of your bottom lash line to make your eyes glisten.
3
Define your eyes for a strong finish
Finish off your eye makeup by enhancing your top lash line with COVERGIRL Bombshell Intensity Liner by LashBlast. Start with a thin line in the inner corner of your top lash line, and make it thicker as you draw towards the outside corner. If you’re feeling game, try a winged liner look.
For extra lash oomph, curl your lashes with shu uemura eyelash curler, and follow with a few coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion Mascara.
4
Enhance your brows
Finish off your bold eye look by grooming your brows and filling in any sparse areas. For a precise finish, use COVERGIRL Brow & Eyemakers Pencil to gently enhance your top and bottom brow lines, and replicate any missing hairs by using hair-like strokes to fill in the gaps. To soften the finish, use a clean spoolie, or a Manicare Disposable Mascara Wand, to brush your brows into shape and blend any harsh lines.
5
Add warmth to your complexion
When it comes to radiant makeup, most would go straight for some bronzer to add some warmth, but follow Zendaya’s lead and opt for an illuminating blush, instead. Use a soft powder brush (we like Rae Morris Deluxe Kabuki) to gently swirl some COVERGIRL TRUblend Blush over the apples of your cheeks, and take the colour up towards your temples. The powder features tiny shimmery particles, which will help give your skin natural radiance without looking too glittery. The combination of the two shades will leave your complexion with a natural, rosy flush.
If you’ve got fair skin, we recommend you choose the Light Rose shade, and medium and darker skin tones can use Medium Rose.
6
Finish with a subtle lip
Ditch a coloured lip for a glossy finish. Use a clear lipgloss, or if you’d prefer to have some colour, we like COVERGIRL Colourlicious Jumbo Gloss Balms in Jam Twist.
