Fenty's Valentine's day campaign centres around LGBTQIA+ pride
To celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, Fenty Beauty announced that its illusive parfum was going to become a permanent fixture at Sephora stores from February 1st.
The brand hand-selected four couples to showcase the Fenty Beauty perfume and the “raw, sensual, [and] irresistible” qualities which makes the unisex scent the perfect gift to share with your significant other.
The campaign featured two LGBTQIA+ couples, but it’s the ex-Miss Universe contestants — Mariana Varela (Miss Argentina) and Fabiola Valentín (Miss Puerto Rico) — that have captured the hearts of Fenty fans.
The couple have been just as mysterious as Rihanna’s fragrance when it comes to their relationship. They only publicly confirmed their relationship status (married) in October of 2022, with a touching video that documented the pair’s romance.
“After deciding to keep our relationship private, we opened the doors to [the public] on a special day,” confirmed Valentín.
Valentín and Varela’s Fenty campaign is a retrospective, which celebrates the moment they met as pageant competitors in Thailand in 2020. “That’s where we connected, we were inseparable.”
“Little by little, that moment brought us closer,” the pair muses in the commercial.
Rihanna has been busy. Not only is she celebrating all love this month, she announced she was pregnant at the Superbowl, and dropped a new red lipstick while performing too.

Briar Clark got her start in the media industry in 2017, as an intern for Marie Claire and InStyle. Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
