The exact products responsible for Evelyn Ellis' old Hollywood hair at the Logies

BEAUTYcrew spoke to the ex-MAFS star's hairstylist for the lowdown

Beauty Crew Beauty Editor / August 20 2024

Evelyn Ellis may have crept into the country's social consciousness through her stint on season 10 of Married At First Sight Australia, but since then she's managed to secure a series of gigs that have kept her firmly in the spotlight.

Case in point? Over the weekend, Ellis attended the 2024 Logie Awards as Nine Honey's official red carpet correspondent, and she did so in style.

The 28 year old employed the help of Australian couture and bridal gown designer Ryan Patros to dress her for the evening, as well as hair stylist Domenic Pelli and makeup artist Makeup By Ikonic to round out her glam team.

The trio transformed Ellis into the most radiantly glamorous version of herself, with the ex-MAFS star donning a glittering, sheer strapless gown, a soft glam face of makeup, and a lush head of old Hollywood waves.

The latter looked so perfect that we had to reach out to her hairstylist Domenic Pelli for the full rundown on exactly what he did, and the products he used. This is what Pelli told BEAUTYcrew...

To prep the hair, Pelli spritzed Ellis' damp strands with the Natalie Anne Lived-In Texture Mist ($39.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty), and blow dried her hair to set. Then he installed the J'Adore Clip In Hair Extensions in '1B' ($398 from J'Adore) and custom cut them into her hair for a seamless blend.

Then, Pelli curled Ellis' mid-lengths and ends with the ghd Curve Soft Curl Tong ($224 from ghd), avoiding any volume through the root area, and setting with Natalie Anne Creaseless Setting Clips ($19.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty). After setting her curls, the hairstylist brushed them out thoroughly for a luxurious and expensive finish, and followed with the Natalie Anne Soft Shaping Texture Spray ($49.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty) to create volume through the mid lengths.

Finally, Pelli used the Natalie Anne Texturising Powder 24 Hr Memory Formula ($39.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty) to control and set the front of Ellis' hair into place with a little back combing. Then he finished off the look with a combination of Nak Fixation Finishing Spray ($14.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty) and Nak Shine Mist ($33.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty) to ensure longevity and shine.

This isn't the only celebrity haircare routine we're excited about this week: Sabrina Carpenter's finally revealed her curly care routine.

Briar Clark got her start in the media industry in 2017, as an intern for Marie Claire and InStyle. Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
