Hailey Bieber’s colourist spilled her exact glossy brunette blend
Since Hailey Bieber’s bob took over the beauty world in 2023, the chic cut and darker hair colour have become the gold standard for hype-worthy hair. In fact, Bieber's natural-looking strands are still very much on trend in 2025.
Not only was Bieber basically the driving force behind Hollywood’s anti-blonde phase (in case you haven't noticed, every signature ‘blonde’ celeb has quietly adopted hazelnut hair), but she’s genuinely mastered the art of great, glossy light brunette.
Now, we know Bieber’s natural hair colour is somewhere in this neighbourhood (hence the return to something more 'her'). However, there’s a specific radiance-enhancing recipe behind her rich, luminous look, and blessedly her colourist Matt Rez revealed it in 2023, and we're still referring back to it two years later.

How to get Hailey Bieber’s hair colour in-salon
After taking Bieber a few shades richer for the U.S.’s colder months, Rez kindly took to Instagram (via a stunning snap of Bieber’s latest look) to break down the blend. “I used equal parts of Redken Shades EQ Bonder Inside 07NCH, 08GG and 09GB to get the richer colour,” he shared. And sure, that may not mean much at all to you, but your hairdresser will definitely speak the language.
For the record, the shade codes respectively refer to Fondue (07NCH, a mid-level milk chocolate brunette), Gold Dip (08GG, a warm, glossy hazelnut), and Buttercream (a rich, buttery dark blonde). Mix those together (in equal parts) and you’ve got magic.
“Now that’s rich!,” one commenter wrote. We’d guess they were technically talking about the depth of the colour, but hey, this kind of shiny shade does make you look rich, too.

07NCH – Fondue

08GG – Gold Dip

09GB - Buttercream
How to get Hailey Bieber’s hair colour at home
More of a DIY person? We’ve got you. There are tons of great options that you can grab at your local supermarket or chemist. They also happen to be absolute bargains — an ironic perk considering the ‘rich’ finish you’ll be walking away with.
Just think about the different shades that went into Bieber’s blend and look for a box-dye that will replicate the biggest factors. Basically, you want a colour with depth, warmth and shine that sits somewhere between dark blonde and golden brunette.
Some of the shades we think would suit? L'Oréal Paris Préférence in 7 Vienna Blond ($13.99 from Chemist Warehouse), Clairol Natural Instincts Semi Permanent Hair Colour in 7 Coastal Dune Dark Blonde ($11.99 from Chemist Warehouse), and Solfine Crema Colour in 5T Coffee ($15 from Priceline).

Plus, great news, every at-home hair colour generally comes with a post-dye gloss conditioner that leaves your colour looking luminous. Looks like we're entering our outrageously shiny 'Bieber brunette' era.
