If you’ve also got curly hair and you’d like to recreate Camila’s look, we’ve got some tips on braiding curly hair…
#1 / Select the right products
Before you get started, make sure you’ve armed yourself with your favourite curly hair products to give your hair some added manageability. Camila told Refinery 29 that Evo’s Liquid Rollers Curl Balm is her go-to. We also love R+Co Twister Curl Primer and John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Finishing Crème.
#2 / Don’t brush your hair
Though it may be tempting to reach for a brush when you’re trying to section your hair off for braiding, brushing curly hair more often than not results in breaking up your curls and creating unwanted frizz. If you have to give your hair a once over before you start braiding, use a wide-toothed comb.
#3 / Work with your curls
When you’re braiding curly hair, you need to work with your curls, rather than against them. Avoid splitting up your curls into smaller sections and grab the entire individual curls when you section your hair.
