Billie Eilish admitted she used to wash her face like a man
“Have you seen men wash their f***ing faces?”
Hands up who’s made a mistake when it comes to skin care?
Whether you’re guilty of over-exfoliating or picking at your pimples – we’ve all made a mistake or two trying to get glazed donut skin like Hailey Bieber.
Heck, even Kim Kardashian sleeps in her makeup.
But while Kim K’s unhealthy skin habit leaves us feeling a bit ill, Billie Eilish’s faux pax is far more hilarious by comparison.
Eilish recently appeared in the Youtube series Vogue Beauty Secrets and admitted she used to aggressively wash her face “like a dude”.
After taking a 10 cent piece of the Biba de Sousa Los Angeles Mandelic Cleansing Gel, Eilish gently started to rub the cleanser into her skin, and then she paused.
“I used to wash my face so violently,” she confessed to the camera. “A friend commented on it one time and she was like ‘why are you so rough with your face?’.”
The singer tried not to laugh as she reminisced the way she used to aggressively rub her face.
“Have you seen men wash their f***ing faces? They go like this,” she explained as she dramatically reenacted the violently masculine ritual of assaulting one’s face with a palmful of sudsy cleanser.
“[You] don’t have to do that,” Eilish advised her audience. “Be gentle, gentle,”
The 20-year-old has come a long way since she first started using skin care at the age of 12. She’s also picked up a few tips and tricks like always cleansing under her chin, and rinsing with cold water too.
“Don’t use warm water, don’t use hot water, use cold water,” Eilish instructed as she postulated herself over the sink and splashed *cold* water on her face.
We’re not surprised she’s evolved since her youth – it’s what she’s best at. Don’t believe us? Here are some of Billie Eilish’s best transformations to date.

She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
