The lipstick and foundation Arsema Thomas nabbed from the 'Queen Charlotte' set
If you’ve watched Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, you’ll know that young Lady Danbury certainly found herself in some, er, less than ideal scenarios throughout the show’s first few episodes. Let’s just say a lot of scalding baths were taken, and for very good reason…
What was ideal for Arsema Thomas, the actress behind the character’s younger iteration, however, was the makeup haul she picked up onset.
While she may have left the corsets (and spoiler alert, her painful onscreen husband) behind, Thomas simply had to take Danbury's signature lipstick and go-to foundation with her. Here's everything you need to know...
Lady Danbury's foundation in 'Queen Charlotte'
Danbury's base always looked flawless (like, even mid-bath), so Thomas is really doing the makeup lord's work by dropping the foundation name. “I start [my personal makeup rotuine] with a NARS [foundation]. This is actually the same foundation that I used on set,” she shared in a Vogue video. Which of the brand's many majestic bases, you ask? The NARS Soft Matte Complete Foundation ($66 at MECCA).
“They let me take it, or I stole it, but we’ll keep that between us," Thomas quipped. Okay, sure, between us and every other Queen Charlotte/makeup fan on the planet!
Lady Danbury's lipstick in 'Queen Charlotte'
Wondering which lipstick stayed strong through so many eloquent speeches? Danbury favoured a Bobbi Brown formula, and now so does Thomas herself.
“[I use the] same [lipstick as I wore in character], the Bobbi Brown [Crushed Lip Colour in] ‘Rich Cocoa’ ($53 at Bobbi Brown)," she explained. "You’ll always see me with this in my purse.”
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story really is proving to be our favourite kind of show: a stunning period piece with modern makeup recommendations aplenty! Shoutout to Thomas (and her on-set makeup team) for blessing Lady Danbury with such stellar products.
