Victoria’s Secret Angel Elsa Hosk’s nifty trick for perfect eye makeup

You know the feels when you apply, like, 12 kilos of eyeshadow and the colour still isn’t poppin’? Well, put down your eyeshadow brushes, because according to Victoria’s Secret Angel Elsa Hosk, there’s actually a better way to do it.
The model, who has just been announced as the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra wearer (in case you don’t already know, this is a BIG deal), showed off her new jewels and her extra sparkly beauty routine to match in a recent Vogue makeup video tutorial. “Wearing this bra, you want your eyes to sparkle,” says Hosk.
But when it comes to actually applying her eyeshadow, instead of using a standard eyeshadow brush (she starts off using one, but ends up ditching it quick-smart), Elsa used her fingertips to get the maximum sparkle effect/colour payoff.
Using her finger, she pats a shimmery pink hue from Pat McGrath’s SkinFetish kit onto her lids (we can't get this little guy in Australia yet), saying, “It actually makes it sparkle even more—you [gotta] just go apeshit”.
In the tutorial she says, “I’m so fortunate to work with so many talented people, I steal their tricks when I can and put it all together into my perfect makeup routine”.
Interesting! While we thought using our fingertips was just the lazy girl’s way to apply eyeshadow, turns out your digits could be the perfect tool for upping the intensity. Plus, they’re way easier to clean than brushes.
Elsa finishes her runway-worthy eye look with a swipe of jet black liquid liner, sharing another little trick. “If you mess it up, just add more,” she says. “I change my look as it goes, I thrive for a thin line, but if I mess up, I just make it thicker!”
