The best-selling hair oil Sydney Sweeney swears by for healthy strands
Just like her Euphoria character Cassie, Sydney Sweeney is clued into the heatless curls movement, and her hairstylist Glen Coco only ever uses the Shark Flex Style on her naturally wavy strands.
But as Sweeney divulged in a recent interview with Marie Claire, she hasn’t always had the healthiest hair habits, and in fact, only just started her haircare journey — “It's been a road.”
“My hair just goes through so much colouring,” she explained to the publication.
“In the last two years, I went from growing my hair out completely, to dyeing it blonde, and then red,” she went on to say. “A month later I had to go blonde again and my hair started falling out. It’s been absolutely terrible.”
“I’m trying to let it grow out as much as possible and find treatments that help it become healthy again,” she explained.
“I started using the [Kérastase Elixir Ultime Original Hair Oil] ($73 at Adore Beauty) and I'm really loving it,” she dished.
Enriched with marula, argan, camellia, corn germ and pracaxi oils, Kérastase Elixir Ultime Original Hair Oil can be used on damp or dry hair as a pre-shampoo treatment, leave-in styling oil or heat protectant.
It helps to boost shine and softness, defines curls, controls frizz and protects hair from humidity too. Plus, it smells unreal.
Funnily enough, the BEAUTYcrew SUPERcrew members also really love the Kérastase Elixir Ultime Original Hair Oil.
“[It] really helps tame frizz and flyaway strands if you use it on dry hair,” says SUPERcrew member D.R. “I find it speeds up drying and styling time, and also prevents my hair from drying out.
“I apply half a pump at night (a little goes a long way!) on freshly washed damp hair and it leaves my hair feeling incredibly soft and looking shiny and healthy,” added Kimberlie.
“The oil has a variety of uses which was a big plus for me,” says Annabel. “It can be used as a pre and post-shower treatment and a pre and post-styling [hair] oil.”

Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
