Introducing this season’s hottest manicure trends, compliments of Fashion Month
The best new nail looks, straight from the runway
Ever find yourself at the nail salon flicking through wheel after wheel of nail designs and fretting over what to get? Us too! And, more often than not, after we’ve done our routine dance of nail indecision, we end up opting for none other than the same look we’ve been wearing for the past 10 weeks.
Sound familiar?
Well, fear not friends because the international Spring 2020 fashion month circuit is currently underway and the runway has been serving some seriously Pinterest-worthy manicures that’ll have your nail inspo covered for months to come. This month-long fashion (and beauty, obvs!) degustation kicks off in New York before traversing to London, Milan and finally Paris where the designers reveal their new season collections for spring.
Here are the best nails looks spotted at Fashion Month Spring 2020, so far:
Pearl-studded nails at Alice + Olivia, NYFW
This dreamy manicure by celeb nail stylist Gina Edwards was spotted at Alice + Olivia and gives a whole new meaning to ‘pearlescent’ nails. Tiny individual stones and pearls were placed on the ends of models’ nails, creating an ultra-femme French manicure unlike anything we’ve seen before.
Shellac bouquets at Libertine, NYFW
Have you ever seen a nail look quite as extra as this?! Libertine has been partial to an imaginative mani in previous years and this year was no exception. Floral bouquets of Shellac were handmade by nail master Valerie Ducharme using CND Shellac products that were affixed to the models’ nails. Stunning!
All out ‘80s at Jeremy Scott, NYFW
An absolute explosion of different colours and nail art patterns formed the basis of this wild ‘80s-inspired nail look at Jeremy Scott’s show. What a vibe! We’re thinking this is a goodie to file away for a fun summer holiday mani.
Stone-inspired swirls at Roland Mouret, LFW
Intricate swirls of colour mesmerised on the nails of models at Roland Mouret’s show. The nail art designs were created by manicurist Marian Newman and were inspired by Marla Aaron's colourful stone jewellery collection featured in the show.
Translucent tips at Halpern, LFW
This gorgeous reverse French manicure spotted at the Halpern show featured clear stiletto tips. “Models walked with power, wielding their talons in a display of excessive elegance,” said CND Co-Founder and Style Director Jan Arnold, describing the look as an homage to the days of Studio 54.
Scalloped nails at Yuhan Wang, LFW
At Yuhun Wang we spied with our little eyes one absolutely gorgeous nail look. Scalloped edges created by nail artist Lauren Michelle Phires gave this look a super quirky yet oh-so pretty finish.
Spots and French tips at Oscar de le Renta, LFW
This simple yet eye-catching manicure at Oscar de le Renta’s show was created by editorial nail artist Miss Pop and team using Zoya Nail Polish in four different skin-flattering shades.
The ‘naked’ manicure at Giorgio Armani, MFW
Easily the most low-key nail trend we’ve witnessed so far, the models at Giorgio Armani appeared to be wearing essentially nothing on their nails. After seeing loads of extravagant nail art throughout the Fashion Week circuit, it was refreshing to see manicure minimalism definitely hasn’t gone out of style. For all the deets on achieving the perfect ‘naked’ manicure, check out our story here.
