Sophie Turner LOVES this unexpected beauty product
“The greatest invention of all”
Sophie Turner is best known for portraying the fiery redhead Sansa Stark on HBO’s Game of Thrones, but when she’s not donning medieval garb and filming the hit show she prefers to revert back to her natural blond hair colour.
Understandably, making such a drastic hair colour change from blonde hair to red hair and back again is enough to leave anyone’s hair feeling a little frazzled, but not Sophie! And it’s all thanks to one simple beauty product.
She explained in a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK that the secret to keeping her hair in optimum condition is as simple as falling asleep. "Silk pillows, by Slip: the greatest invention of all. They keep your skin soft, they keep your hair soft; you sleep on them, you wake up and you look so refreshed. It's really good for everything."
She’s not wrong – they really are a great investment in any beauty routine. They cause less friction than traditional cotton pillowcases – both for hair and skin, resulting in smoother frizz-free hair and more youthful and crease-free skin upon waking. What’s not to love? Mornings are hard enough without adding a bad hair day to the mix.
Sophie also attributes the outstanding health of her luscious locks to her use of Wella products. Sophie became a brand ambassador for the company in 2017 after her on-set hairstylists used Wella dyes to colour her hair throughout the first few seasons of Game of Thrones (in later seasons she opted for a wig instead) and she noticed that the brand didn’t damage her hair the same way traditional hair colourants did.
In an interview with InStyle US, she explained she maintains the condition of her hair using their Invigo range. “I like to use the Wella’s Invigo Nutri-Enrich Frizz Control Cream, which is really amazing, you put it on every morning and it completely takes away all of the frizz, so it’s great for hat hair and helmet hair. My hair can get pretty dry as well, so I use the Invigo Blonde Recharge Color Refreshing Conditioner in Cool Blonde and Mask. That rehydrates the hair.”

Briar Clark got her start in the media industry in 2017, as an intern for Marie Claire and InStyle. Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
