Sophie Turner cut off her iconic ‘Sansa Stark’ hair

It’s official: Sophie Turner has ditched her fiery Sansa Stark locks. The Game of Thrones star recently shared her full hair transformation on Instagram - and she looks almost unrecognisable.
In the biggest of hair plunges, she’s traded her iconic strawberry-hued hair for an icy blonde look (ahem, anyone else getting some major Khaleesi vibes?!), chopping it into a wavy, shoulder-grazing lob.
She posted a selfie of her fresh cut and colour, captioning the pic “New beginnings, new #WellaHair! Thank you @sonyadove for transforming my look with @wellahairuse.”
Last year the star become an official Global Brand Ambassador for Wella Professionals, so her new ‘do seems to be part of her ongoing partnership with the brand. The face and hands behind the makeover was celebrity hairstylist Christian Wood, who teased the new look on his own Instagram page.
Alongside a Boomerang video of his scissors trimming someone’s long blonde hair, he wrote, “Guess who’s getting a big transformation today with @wellahiarUSA?”
While this isn’t the first time she’s taken a break from her alter-ego’s fiery red colour (fun fact: the star is actually a natural blonde), it’s the first time she’s switched it up in such a major way – and we love her new look!
We think the cool tones look fresh and edgy, accentuating her blue eyes on a whole new level. And as for the cut, the very chic new lob suits the actress perfectly. It just shows what a fresh colour and chop can do!
