The lash and lip products used to create Selena Gomez's Emmy Awards makeup
She was wearing six different types of lashes
The 75th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards celebrated the past year of television this week, and the A-list nominees brought their glam A-game to the red carpet. Celebrities like Jenna Ortega, Suki Waterhouse and Aubrey Plaza all arrived looking effortlessly put together to say the least.
But we can say without a shadow of a doubt that Selena Gomez's vampy take on dolce vita glamour was hands down the best hair and makeup look of the evening.
Gomez turned to her friend and makeup artist Hung Vanngo to help her create a makeup look for the event and the duo decided to make lashes and lips the focus.
As expected, Gomez's Rare Beauty was used for the occasion to create the vampy, plummy deep red lip look the Only Murders In The Building star touted for the evening.
Vanngo lined the Rare Beauty founder's lips with the Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lip Liner in the rich, dark brown shade 'Strong' ($27 at Sephora Australia) and he filled in her pout with the Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lipstick, also in the shade 'Strong' ($35 at Sephora) and a limited edition, true red shade called 'Devoted', which is no longer available to shop unfortunately.
As for the lashes, Vanngo partnered with Lashify to achieve a fluttery, false lash effect for Gomez's red carpet look.
To create Gomez's "gorgeous full lashes" Vanngo shared that he used different lash styles for a bespoke look that he could customise specifically for the multihyphenate's eye shape.
The unique false lashes share a distinct similarity to lash extensions rather than traditional lash strips. Each lash section is less than a CM in length, which means you can mix and match lash lengths from the inner to the outer corner of the eye.
To create Gomez's eye look specifically, Vanngo applied the Bold 8mm lashes ($25 at Lashify) to her inner corner and then he lay the Bold 10mm lashes ($25 at Lashify) next to them. He used two Drama 10mm lash sections ($25 at Lashify) in the middle of her eye and a 12mm Drama lash ($25 at Lashify) for the outer corner. He also stacked some Curl 12mm lashes ($25 at Lashify) on the outer upper corner for extra volume.
Selena Gomez wasn't the only celebrity with a complicated makeup look this week. Camila Morrone wore this $235 lipstick on the Critics Choice Awards red carpet.
