The budget-friendly hair brand responsible for Ayo Edebiri's soft-textured waves at the Emmys

"Solange may have been on the mood board."

Ayo Edebiri's Emmy Awards makeup on Sunday was sheer perfection as far as we're concerned, but in our opinion her hair was equally as noteworthy.

Celebrity hair stylist Miles Jeffries was the genius behind Edebiri's wavy strands, which were inspired by icons of the '70s and a modern music icon.

"For the Emmys, the inspiration was a modern take on '70s brushed-out, soft-textured waves," Jeffries shared via Instagram. "Solange may have been on the mood board."

He encouraged his Instagram followers to try the look at home and even shared the exact products and methods he used. Lucky us!

"The intention is for the hair to be polished and carefree. It’s important to be patient with each step. Slower is faster when you know what the goal is," he advised. "In the end don’t forget to play and have fun."

"To get the look, I used the Covet And Mane Coveted Tape-in for added volume in [the] colour 'London'," he explained to his followers.

"When adding hair of any kind, I’m always looking at the shape and balance. Making adjustments as I build the look," he continued. "Most importantly, the client should feel empowered."

To prep Edebiri's hair, the hair stylist cleansed the hair with Maui Moisture Scalp Care Clarifying Shampoo ($11.83 from Amazon) and Maui Moisture Scalp Care Rejuvenating Conditioner ($11.83 from Amazon).

Next, Jeffries added a few drops of the Maui Moisture Scalp Care Soothe & Strengthen Serum with Rosemary Oil (not available in Australia) to Edebiri's scalp to prevent scalp dryness and strengthen the actress' curls.

"[Then,] I set the hair with Maui Moisture Frizz-Free + Shea Butter Leave-in Conditioning Mist ($23.95 from Amazon) and defused until the hair was one hundred percent dry," he explained. "[And] before defining the style with an iron, I sprayed Maui Moisture Coconut Milk Weightless Oil Mist ($30.08 from Amazon) for added control and shine."

Ayo wasn't the only celeb we had our eyes on at the Emmys. We found every single product that went into Selena Gomez's Emmys glam.

Briar Clark got her start in the media industry in 2017, as an intern for Marie Claire and InStyle. Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
