The one skin care step that Rita Ora never misses in her routine
Rita Ora has barely aged since her debut performance in Drake’s 2010 music video for his single ‘Over’.
The singer might just have good genes but we suspect her beauty routine is also a key component to staying youthful.
Thankfully, the 32-year-old shared the one skin care step she never misses in a recent interview with Byrdie.
“I always make sure to prime my skin before applying any makeup,” she told the publication. “Primer creates almost a cloud-like, satin finish, which feels gorgeous and makes sure my makeup sits perfectly on my skin from day to night.”
“It’s also good for hydrating the skin and protecting against aging,” she explained. “So it really is a must for me.”
Obviously, her skin care routine doesn’t start and end with a primer, though. In fact, she has a rather thorough routine that she tweaks depending on how much time she has on her hands.
On the mornings she doesn’t have to wake up extra early for work, Ora cleanses her skin with a light foam cleanser, and follows up with some light exfoliation. “I say light because you really want to be careful and not overdo it,” she emphasised. “Then I’ll put on some moisturizer and, of course, under-eye cream.”
Ora also loves a bit of “me-time in the evening”. She likes to chill out with a light therapy face mask because it “helps to kill bacteria and calms inflammation — it’s relaxing too,” she explained. “Ideal for when I need to switch my brain off after a busy day.”
We recommend:
Victoria Beckham Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer ($160 at Augustinus Bader); Omnilux Contour Face ($590 at Omnilux); and NOBLE PANACEA The Absolute Restoring Eye Cream ($405.54 at NET-A-PORTER).
While Rita Ora is clearly doing a lot of things right, some of us aren’t. According to celebrity aesthetician Vanessa Marc these skin care mistakes could be ruining our skin barrier.

Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
