Shay Mitchell just showed us all how to pull off green eyeshadow
Get ready to update your classic smoky eye
There are always going to be *those* shades in an eyeshadow palette that remain untouched – it’s just a fact of life. They tend to be a little ‘out there’ for our norm, and we immediately think we won’t be able to pull them off.
But we come bearing good news – those neglected shades could soon have their chance to shine. Shay Mitchell just showed us that green eyeshadow CAN look amazing - so we’re pretty much re-thinking everything we’ve ever known.
The actress arrived at the 2018 A&E Upfront event in New York City wearing THE most amazing green smoky eye. While it’s quite possibly the last colour we’d ever think about swiping on our lids (apart from maybe as a teeny bit of St Patrick’s Day fun), we’re actually super into it.
Created by none other than celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta, the mossy green eyeshadow (which seemed to have a copper/metallic tinge to it), was blended around Shay’s upper and lower lid, lifting her entire look and accentuating those chocolate brown eyes on a whole other level.
The star allowed her bold eye makeup to take centre stage, keeping the rest of her look somewhat subtle. Teamed with spidery lashes, she opted for contoured cheeks, super polished brows and a matte nude lip.
Her long hair was worn slicked back in loose waves; she absolutely oozed Hollywood glam.
We’ll just be over here waiting for Patrick Ta to break down the whole *entire* look. Until then, we’re revisiting our eyeshadow palettes to find the next best thing to recreate a green smoky eye of our own.
