The one product you can use to do your entire makeup look
No one could ever accuse beauty products of being one-hit wonders; we’ve all seen the beauty hacks on how to get the most out of our makeup products - concealer in place of eyeshadow or the trick for using your lipstick to add some flush to your cheeks are just a couple that come to mind
The latest beauty hack comes from beauty blogger Shani Grimmond, who is putting one product to serious work. In her viral video, "Full Face Using ONLY Liquid Lipsticks", she uses only liquid lipstick to create her entire makeup look; foundation, eyeshadow, mascara, all of it. Sounds crazy, but what about the results? Actually, it’ pretty impressive!
The Queenslander starts the video by setting the challenge to herself, armed with a box full of pink, orange and red-hued lip tubes. “This is going to be the biggest fail ever… I feel like I’m just going to completely flop it,” says Grimmond.
For her foundation base, Shani applies Dose of Colors Liquid Lipstick in Sand. She “slaps” it on her face and blends with a foundation brush. With zero coverage, and looking quite orange, she comments on how the sticky ‘foundation’ actually blends out pretty well. For the blush, Shani uses OFRA Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Bel Air. She uses just a small amount of the pigmented shade to quickly blend across her cheeks before it dries.
In place of a highlighter, she uses the golden metallic peach colour of Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit in Heir, which she dabs onto an eyeshadow brush, then along the top of her cheekbones and the tip of her nose.
For her eyes, Shani uses Kylie Cosmetics Metal Matte Lipstick in King K for a gold shimmer, blending it up and out, commenting on it drying quickly and getting messy. She even applies a line to the bottom of her eyes with Kylie’s Metal Matte Lipstick in Reign for a dark maroon colour. (These three Metal Matte Lipsticks can be bought in a bundle.) Next, with a black liquid lipstick she skillfully creates an eyeliner effect on her top lid, grabs a spoolie brush to do her mascara, then brushes the excess on the brush through her brows.
For the only properly-placed makeup in the whole video, Shani uses OFRA Cosmetic’s Bel Air shade again on her lips, followed by the Dose of Colors in Sand to dull the pinky colour.
After the addition of false lashes to complete her look, the finished result doesn’t look so bad. Granted, we can’t tell how sticky her face must feel but she’s managed to expertly highlight her cheekbones and line her eyes with liquid lipstick, which deserves some praise. Although she warns, “don’t take this video seriously, just a little bit of fun and mucking around.”
Next stop, straight to the shower to wash it all off to prevent breakouts. The things girls do for a little fun on YouTube! You can check out the full video below:
