Lily James' eyebrows are going grey
Just like the rest of us, celebrities are ageing, and just like us, they’re dying their roots to cover up their greys.
Most celebrities make a considered decision in their middle age to give up the elaborate ruse of youth and turn ‘going grey’ into an advantageous PR opportunity.
Lily James, however, is forgoing all the theatrics of PR stunts and choosing to give her fans a front row seat to the ageing process.
The 34-year-old shared a close-up shot of her eyebrows with her Instagram followers and nestled right in front of her dark brunette arches was a singular grey hair.

While finding a single grey hair in your mid-thirties is not the end of the world, it’s an extremely relatable experience. Whether said hair is located in your eyebrows or tangled up with the hair on your head, most women start going grey in their thirties and forties, and some even begin the process in their twenties.
What’s less common is seeing a woman of that age bracket in the public eye being open about it.
Jennifer Aniston and Tracee Ellis Ross have both admitted to freaking out when they found their first grey hairs, and they subsequently called their colourists to cover them up.
Jennifer Lopez told People magazine in 2011 that she went “prematurely grey at 23, and I have to have [my roots] touched up every couple of weeks.”
However, not all celebrities share the same desire to cover their greys.
Drew Barrymore told The Sunday Times Style that her grey hairs “double as highlights”, while Salma Hayek lovingly refers to hers as her “white hairs of wisdom”.
Sarah Jessica Parker has said that she went grey because she just couldn’t factor getting her hair coloured every two weeks into her already busy schedule. She also doesn’t appreciate the rhetoric that inevitably rears its ugly head when female celebrities do make the conscious decision to gracefully go grey either.
“It became months and months of conversation about how brave I am for having grey hair,” she told Allure. “I was like, ‘please, please applaud someone else's courage on something!’”
Ultimately, we’re not surprised by Lily James’ candour on the subject, this is the same woman who said she uses an 'eye-brator' to make her feel alive in the morning.
