Lily James uses an 'eye-brator' to make her feel alive in the morning
As much as we’ve entered an era of sex positivity, we still don’t hear the A-list chatting about vibrators very often. But A) because she’s got cheeky British humour, and B) because she actually uses this one for her face, Lily James did just spill about the vibrating tool she loves...
Lily James' favourite skin care tool
“My little Jillian Dempsey [Gold Bar] ($296.03 at Jillian Dempsey] is amazing,” James noted in a video for Harper’s BAZAAR UK, showing off a 24k gold-plated vibrating bar. “Gemma Chan coined them ‘eye-brators’,” she chuckled. Funny and fair; the bar literally vibrates over your eye area.
“You put it along your eyes and it gets the blood flowing," James shared. "It’s kind of like my meditation, it’s really good. I think it’s just meant to get movement in the skin and it makes you feel more alive." They’re seriously effective, too, with 6000 vibrating rotations of the bar per minute working to contour the face for a wide awake appearance.
“I feel most beautiful after a long night’s sleep,” James added. So it makes solid sense that her skin care routine is all about faking that ‘awake’ look when she can’t get her full eight hours.
Lily James' favourite wellness products
A lot of James' beauty bag is actually devoted to enhancing sleep. “[I use] a sleep tonic [from] this amazing brand called Artah ($58.11 at Artah), and they do different vitamins and tonics,” she explained of another of her wellness favourites. “I used to be an amazing sleeper and it’s getting worse. I’m scared because my mum’s an insomniac. But this helps me. So I have that and an Ambien and I’m great,” she joked.
“I [also] have this Slip eye mask,” James shared of her beloved Slip Lovely Lashes Black Contour Sleep Mask ($60 at Sephora). “I love this [because] I’m always on planes and travelling.” It’s not just any old eye mask, though – James’ silk number of choice actually solves the main complaint for mask users: “There’s little holes for your eyes and it’s so comfortable and silky,” she confirmed.
“I now sleep on their pillows as well because as I’m getting older, I realise that your skin 'crunches' on the pillowcase and the silk is wrinkle-preventative, so [a silk pillowcase] is a must-have at all times," she admitted. The Slip Rose Gold Collection Queen Size Pillowcase ($95 at Sephora) is perfect if you want to follow suit.
Sounds like a stellar sleep routine to us. And hey, if all else fails, the eye-brator has your eye area’s back; you'll be looking alive again in no time.
