The products
Maintaining blonde hair between salon visits can sometimes feel like a mountain of a task, plus, to make matters worse, adding a blonde-specific shampoo and conditioner to your haircare routine can push your budget over the edge. Finding a balance between products that actually work and products that won’t break the bank can be tricky, but it IS possible. We’ve found a supermarket duo that ticks both boxes.
The L’Oréal Paris Elvive Colour Protect Anti-Brassiness Purple Shampoo and Conditioner help neutralise unwanted brassy tones in blonde and grey hair while ensuring hair is nourished and conditioned. The hardworking duo is also super affordable at just $9.95 each.
The purple toning shampoo contains intense ultra-violet pigments that work to neutralise brassiness to ensure an ashy, creamy blonde hue. L’Oréal Paris Elvive Colour Protect Anti-Brassiness Purple Conditioner works to simultaneously tone and condition hair, ensuring hair remains healthy and strong.
Our panel of Review Crew® testers put these products to the test.
The panel
Beauty Crew sent L’Oréal Paris Elvive Colour Protect Anti-Brassiness Purple Shampoo and L’Oréal Paris Elvive Colour Protect Anti-Brassiness Purple Conditioner to a panel of women aged between 25 and 45 with blonde, grey or highlighted brunette hair that has a tendency to become brassy, yellow or orange over time.
The lowdown
Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about L’Oréal Paris Elvive Colour Protect Anti-Brassiness Purple Shampoo and Conditioner.
The way their hair looked after using the products: Review Crew® members were pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of the products. They found the products helped to not only reduce unwanted brassy tones but also restore their colour to a brighter, creamier and ashier blonde that more-closely resembled the colour they originally left the salon with.
The noticeable improvement in their hair’s health: Members loved the intensely nourishing and conditioning benefits of the purple conditioner, which they felt were comparable to using a hair treatment or mask. Reviewers found that their hair felt more hydrated, moisturised and healthy immediately after using the conditioner.
The products’ affordability: Reviewers were really pleased to find that this purple haircare range wasn’t expensive and was readily available at their local supermarket or pharmacy. They also reported that they found the shampoo and conditioner to be as effective (if not more!) at restoring their salon-quality colour than other purple shampoo and conditioners from higher-end brands.
