5 beauty rules Julia Garner swears by
Tips and tricks from Gucci Guilty’s new ambassador
Julia Garner is great at a few things; acting (obviously), mimicking Anna Delvey’s insane accent, and nailing iconic red carpet glam.
The 29-year-old continually produces classic hair and makeup moments with an unexpected twist that speaks to her artistic sensibilities.
We have no doubt that it’s for that very reason that Garner was hand-selected as one of the new Gucci Guilty ambassadors, alongside fellow creatives A$AP Rocky and Elliot Page.
Understandably, perfume plays a big role in the Gucci Guilty ambassador’s beauty routine, but her love for fragrance didn’t start with the luxury fashion house.
In fact, Garner has five beauty rules to live by, one of which includes ensuring her handbag is always stocked with scent.
1/ Always have perfume in your purse
“I'm very big on perfume,” she told Glamour. “I feel very weird when I leave the house without putting it on, and I even carry mini perfumes in my purse at all times — personally I need perfumes.”
2/ Hydrate
As far as Garner’s concerned, the best (and arguably the most practical) way to maintain a healthy, youthful complexion is “to drink water”.
3/ Moisturise
The actress is clearly a fan of common sense; to her, finding “a cream that works for you” and your skin is a non-negotiable, and we tend to agree.
4/ Stop smoking
“Try not to smoke cigarettes,” is Garner’s advice, and it’s something she feels doesn’t require much explanation either — “I think it's as simple as that.”
5/ Stay fit
While Garner admitted to the publication that she’s still working on finding the motivation to exercise regularly — “I wish I was one of those people that love it, but unfortunately, I'm not” — she understands that there are immense benefits to staying active.
Julia Garner may have five golden rules, but Rita Ora’s skin care routine would be nothing without this important step.

Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
