South Korea is known as the beauty capital of the world because so many amazing inventions come from there. The latest thing we’re obsessed with? The cushion compact. By using this cleverly-designed foundation, you are able to easily build a light to medium coverage, and the formula feels really nice on the skin.
Last year saw a handful of luxury brands launch this new technology, and now L’Oréal Paris has just come out with something similar for the mass market – meet the new Nude Magique Cushion Foundation. Not only does it contain SPF29 sun protection, but it also feels light as a feather, like you’re not wearing any base at all. The best part is that the whole application process is mess-free, as you use a sponge to apply the product directly onto your skin.
Here’s how to use it…

Test the shade
Check that the colour is right for you by opening the product, tapping the cushion, and dabbing the sponge onto your chin. If it disappears, then it’s the perfect colour for you.

Apply the product
Starting from the middle of your face, glide the sponge across your skin. If you run out of product, just tap the cushion again for more. This technique is great for light coverage.

Add some more
For a medium coverage, go over your face again by tapping the product onto your skin, steering clear of the edges of your face – to avoid a mask-like finish.
