How to nail your base

From primer to powder, here’s how to get a flawless face

1

Prep your skin

Apply a light layer of primer (such as Elizabeth Arden’s new Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer) by squeezing out a pea-sized amount onto clean fingers, and work it all over your face - don’t forget about your jawline and chin as well, because you’ll be applying foundation there too.

TOP TIP: This primer is a clever multitasking product that’ll smooth uneven texture, make your pores look smaller, fill in any fine lines and wrinkles, and give your face a really nice, radiant glow, all the while ensuring your foundation stays put.

2

Apply your base

Using a foundation brush, take a small 20 cent piece amount of foundation (such as Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift and Firm Makeup) and work it from the centre of your face, outwards.

TOP TIP: Time-release skin-balancing technology in this product helps control shine and maintain moisture for an impeccably flawless appearance

3

Conceal your spots

Using the tip of that same foundation brush, go over any red spots you might have, with a creamy concealer (such as Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Maximum Coverage Concealer).

TOP TIP: Go slightly around the blemish as well, so it blends in really nicely with your foundation.

4

Powder trouble spots

To lock your look in place, press some powder (such as Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Ultra Smooth Pressed Powder) onto areas that may look shiny, such as the T-zone, or forehead.
