It’s time to take on the ton…

Dearest Readers,

We are delighted to inform you that a salacious morsel of gossip has reached our keen ears. A piece of news so considerate that it will surely keep our beauty-loving ton abuzz with how-tos and recreations.

Okay, so, we’re no Lady Whistledown but if you’re anything like us you’ve binged the latest eps of Brigerton and are desperate to know more about Penelope Featherington’s glow up. And while the incredibly gorgeous Nicola Coughlan dropped her skin care routine, the star has been more coy surrounding the details of her fresh makeup look. That was, until now.

Because we’ve officially found our favourite person, and it happens to be makeup artist Jessie Deol. Why? Well firstly she teased a time-lapsed reel of the getting ready process, and then she answered all our burning questions surrounding the makeup that Lady Whistledown *ahem* Penelope Featherington (AKA Nicola Coughlan) was wearing in season three of Bridgerton

So, without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about Penelope Featherington’s Hawkins Ball makeup…

Penelope Featherington’s *Exact* Makeup Look

Skin Prep

We already know that (in jest) Coughlan credits her glowing skin to getting plenty of sleep and water. Oh, and of course skin care giant Tatcha.

But while prepping her skin on set, she opts for the Wishful Eye Lift & Contour Eye Masks ($8 at Huda Beauty), which she wears while using her face-firming NuFace (Mini Starter Kit, 364.32 at Cult Beauty) microcurrent device. Deol then follows it up with a hydrating hit of Dr. Barbara Sturm Face Cream Rich ($260.30 at Catch) which creates a flawless start to create the base.

Base, Blush and Highlight

Coughlan’s porcelain skin was undeniably glowing this season. And with all eyes on her character, the question remains, how did they get her skin so unbelievably flawless? Well, wallets at the ready because you’re going to want to snap up this long-wearing dewy combo.

Deol started by taking the Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Fluid Foundation ($209 at Amazon Australia) across her face. Then for any areas that needed brightening (or concealing) she used the fan-fave NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($53 at MECCA)

For that incredible peachy pink flush, Deol used a (sadly now out of stock) Make Up For Ever UHD Palette 12 Blush ($170 at David Jones), taking the wash of colour just under the apples of her cheeks and all the way up to her hairline, almost in place of contour. As for the truly unmissable glow, it was the work of none other than the cult-classic BECCA Highlighter in ‘Pearl’ ($70.88 at Amazon Australia).

Turns out the actual diamonds of the season were Penelope’s cheeks…

Eyes and Brows

Matching brow shades to red hair can be a total nightmare, but thankfully Deol worked with the OG soapbrow company (Westbarn Co) to match Coughlan’s brows to the (very expensive and extensive) wig collection. And for any redheads amongst us looking for the perfect subtle hue, she used the Westbarn Co The Brow Pencil in ‘Clay’ ($28 at Westbarn Co)

When creating this makeup look, Deol wanted to fit the look to the theme of innovations. She chose “a soft gun metal grey shade for the eyes to allow her blue eyes to pop without overpowering them”. The multifunctional shade was Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liner in ‘Sea Grey’ ($53 at Victoria Beckham Beauty), which she took on the tops and bottoms of Coughlan’s eyes, making sure to blend out. Then to give a bit of dimension to the look, she opted for one of the DIOR Backstage Glow Face Palettes ($86 at Adore Beauty). But the real pièce de résistance was how Deol “added crystals (from Eimass Crystals) to catch the light while she dances. Any man dancing with her would be drawn to look into her eyes after all she is looking for a husband.”

And they’d see her glistening eyes and fluttering lashes – thanks to Too Faced Better Than Sex Volumising Mascara ($48 at MECCA) and Dark Swan of Denmark Secret 03 Feather- Short mix ($46 at Dark Swan of Denmark) – staring soulfully up at them.

Lips

Call us crazy, but Coughlan’s lips were what set us off on the need to know makeup hunt. The light, luscious and glossy pink tint has captivated our hearts and minds (with multiple rewatches needed for a good stare).

We can barely contain our excitement now that we know exactly what combo was used. For that ‘your lips but better’ look, Deol started with a Bobbi Brown Lip Pencil in ‘Ballet Pink’ ($56 at Bobbi Brown). Then to give the glossy finish of our dream she applied the Victoria Beckham Beauty Posh Gloss in ‘Bikini’ ($50 at Victoria Beckham Beauty). Seriously simple right? But clearly effective, because it had us (and Lord Debling) captivated.

Now it’s time to recreate the look and host a Regency Era soiree. Be sure to give the Mamas something to talk about…
