These are the hair treatments Nicola Coughlan trusts to save her strands...
Must-haves after wearing wigs on the set of Bridgerton all day
When it comes to Penelope Featherington *ahem* we mean Nicola Coughlan there are two things we know to be true. Firstly, she's the busiest lady in television this year, and secondly, she's damn hilarious.
But the actress has just revealed her best kept secret talent — haircare.
Coughlan's stunning platinum blonde (AKA the trickiest colour to maintain) hair is a fair stretch from the auburn tresses of her Bridgerton character. You may have heard rumours that the wigs on the set of Bridgerton ended up costing tens of thousands of dollars, and we can confirm they're all true.
But after we found out she was wearing wigs whilst filming, it made us curious — how did Coughlan keep her natural mane so nourished under all those wigs? So we put our sleuthing skills to the test to find out more...
The exact products Nicola Coughlan uses in her haircare routine
We found out that Coughlan recently shared with Allure, that while filming season three the cast were big on hair masks, because wearing heavy wigs hours, weeks and months on end can be a bit tough on your tresses. However, it suited Coughlan just fine, as she was on her own hair growth journey at the time.
Her personal favourite (that she always travels with) is Olaplex's No. 3 Hair Perfector ($54 at Adore Beauty).
The treatment helps to restore the hair's strength and elasticity — a major component in creating longer, healthier strands — so it's not hard to understand why it's become such a mainstay in her routine.
Farida Ghwedar — the hair styling goddess responsible for all of the Bridgerton cast's hair — was also a big fan of keeping the star's strands hydrated and healthy with the help of the JVN Complete Pre Wash Scalp & Hair Treatment Oil ($50 at Sephora).
So, basically what we're hearing is that Coughlan's mane had more main character energy than Miss Penelope Featherington herself this season.
While we might not all be wearing wigs every day, it's always a good idea to give hair a weekly treat to help it stay the healthiest it can be — and you best bet we'll be adding to cart whatever Nicola Coughlan suggests.
