The two beauty trends Kylie Jenner has given up for good

No regrets

Kylie Jenner has boldly tried all the beauty trends you've been too scared to touch over the years.

She's tried every hair colour you can imagine (her King Kylie era teal will always have a special place in our hearts), and she's been the test subject for every product manufactured by Kylie Cosmetics since 2014.

"There were one or two beauty influencers on YouTube showing you how to do eye shadow," Jenner told ELLE in a recent cover interview. "Girls are getting great at their makeup. These 12-year-olds are doing makeup amazing! Even my daughter is so interested in wanting to play with makeup, and she’s six."

Recently, the business mogul decided to revisit the hair and makeup choices of her youth. She recreated her 2017 makeup routine earlier this year, and in September she whipped out her teal King Kylie era wig

"I had a free day," she joked in the interview. "That era will always be a part of who I am, but it’ll never be what it was when I was younger."

Although she enjoyed them at the time, there are certain trends she says she'd never consider trying again.

"I probably would never wear lash extensions and thick eyebrows," she explained. "There are just certain trends that I’ve grown out of."

However, considering how experimental she's been with her look over the years, there's not much she actually regrets trying. Though she has been vocal about the fact that she wished she'd thought twice about treatments.

"I have to give my younger self grace. I don’t like to have too many regrets in life. I think my path is what got me here today," she explained. "I’m happy with where I am and just have to keep moving forward."

"I got pregnant when I was 19," she went on to say. "Having a baby really young was more shocking, maybe, because I saw these changes happening to my body — all these new stretch marks and things that I didn’t have before."

"I haven’t had a baby in a few years. The first part of my twenties was having children, learning what my personal style was and then losing it—not knowing how to dress, gaining 60 pounds for both pregnancies. It took me a year to feel like myself again. At 27, I feel more confident and more like myself than ever," she concluded.

Jenner's not the only celebrity who's had to pivot to find a new normal. Kelsea Ballerini's workout burnout forced her to try more forgiving exercises.

Briar Clark got her start in the media industry in 2017, as an intern for Marie Claire and InStyle. Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
