#1 / Up your water intake
One of the best things you can do before a big event is to up your water intake so that your skin is looking its glowy best. So, follow Anna’s lead and ensure you’re downing plenty of H20 in the leadup to race day.
“I like to take care of myself all the time and one absolute must is hydration! I love to keep my skin hydrated - drinking lots of water (three litres per day), you can’t go wrong,” says Anna.
#2 / Beauty bag essentials
Make sure your beauty kit is well stocked before the big day to ensure you don’t need to do a last-minute panicked-dash to Priceline. Plus, remember to throw a few key products in your handbag for touch-ups throughout the day.
Right now, product-wise Anna is loving: “A facial mist, nude lipstick and lip balm are my favourites for the spring season. I also have eyelash extensions which I have maintained every four weeks.”
#3 / Get your glow on
Although race days are dressy affairs, when it comes to makeup it’s important to keep in mind that it needs to be daytime event appropriate. Instead of a heavy, contoured base, think fresh, radiant skin.
“I love a glowy makeup look with defined eyes or lips depending on my outfit and SPF in foundation is a must for me!” says Anna.

Hair accessories have been huge this year and the craze is showing no sign of slowing down.
“Hair accessories such as classic clips and bows are having a moment which I’m loving as well as the floral crown and straw boater hat,” says Anna.
