The 2017 American Music Awards have just kicked off in Los Angeles and while we always expect to see a plethora of stunning hair and makeup looks from some of the world’s hottest celebs, we weren’t expecting Selena Gomez to debut a bold, platinum blonde lob on the red carpet.
The new blonde ‘do is a dramatic hair change for the singer who has never strayed far from her signature chocolate brown locks, only ever dabbling in caramel or honey-toned balayage from time to time.
And for those thinking the singer’s new colour is all due to the workings of a very good wig? Marissa Marino, Senior Stylist for top Los Angeles salon Nine Zero One, has confirmed she’s the woman behind the singer’s new hair colour.
There’s no denying Selena’s new colour is a drastic change and one that’s certainly going to get the world talking – could it be that the singer changed up her look so dramatically to keep the conversation about her and her new album, rather than her rekindling with Justin Bieber? If so, we think it’s a smart move and we take our hats off to you, Selena.
