The cult favourite makeup product Rachel Zegler wore every day on the 'Snow White' set

"[I had it] on for hours and hours and hours, and it never faded"
Rachel Zegler has made it clear from the moment she was cast as Snow White in the Disney remake, that her take on the classic tale was going to cater to a modern audience. So it came as no surprise to us that her makeup — both on set and on the red carpet during the film's press tour — was reflective of that too.
"It's no longer 1937," Zegler told Variety matter-of-factly when the Snow White trailer was first teased at Disney's 2023 Expo.
"We absolutely wrote a Snow White that is not going to be saved by the prince, and she's not gonna be dreaming about true love. She's dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be, and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave, and true," she explained. "It's just a really incredible story for young people everywhere to see."
So what makeup products does a modern Snow White, with an 'I don't need a man' attitude, stash in her makeup bag? As it turns out she's big on no-makeup makeup, and regularly uses soothing skin care to get that fairy tale glass skin — she is the fairest in the land, after all. As for that iconic rose red lip look? It's been updated to reflect the current times, with Zegler sporting two cult-favourite lip products during filming, as well as, on the red carpet.
She wore a lip colour on-set everyday that went viral on Tiktok
"In Snow White, my lip colour was the Benefit lip tint — the Benetint ($42 from Benefit Cosmetics) — in a much pinker shade than I think a lot of people realize," Zegler told Allure. "I think just the pink mixed with my natural colour is red, as [Snow White's lip colour] was intended to be."
"I had that Benetint ($42 from Benefit Cosmetics) on for hours and hours and hours, and it never faded," she explained. "We would touch it up after lunch, but otherwise it was on for a good portion of the day, and having a lip like that — that stays — is very important, especially in filmmaking."

She got sprayed down with this French pharmacy favourite by the Snow White crew
Benefit's Benetint ($42 from Benefit Cosmetics) wasn't the only beauty product Zegler used on set that you might recognise.
The crew touched up her soaking wet hair and face during scenes that were set in the rain using a cult-favourite French pharmacy find — Avène's Thermal Spring Water ($14.99 from Chemist Warehouse).
"The almighty wet-down (which occurred very often throughout the filming process) this time captured on my 21st birthday, with Niall, sweet Eleanor, and lovely George from VFX," she shared via Instagram, alongside an image of the very wet application process.
Considering the way this stuff soothes, softens and hydrates the skin, it's no surprise that Zegler's glam squad picked it for on-set touch-ups. It's a much more gentle option than a spray bottle full of tap water, that's for sure, and likely the sole product responsible for the actress' camera-ready skin during filming. She modernised the classic Snow White lip colour on the red carpet
As for the Snow White press tour? Zegler's makeup artist Allan Avendaño has been dragging a heavy kit full of Dior makeup around the world, dreaming up Snow White-inspired glam looks for the actress.
Instead of being too 'on the nose' with the iconic Snow White's lip colour, Avendaño used a subtle tinted lip balm to create a just-bitten lip look for the film's Los Angeles premiere. The makeup artist gradually built up colour in the centre of Zegler's pout using Dior's Addict Lip Glow in 'Rosewood' ($65 from Sephora) on a lip brush, blending outwards.

Speaking of iconic lip looks... this is every red lipstick Taylor Swift actually wears.
