Maybelline New York Tattoo Liner Gel Pencil

I am someone who has every non-liquid eyeliner smudge on me, whether it is a crayon or pencil. I read that gel eyeliners are more resilient to smudging, so I purchased this eyeliner in the shade 'bold brown'. It looks like a pencil and can be sharpened in the same way. The application is great - it just glides on without any tugging on my eyelid. I found it easy to apply even though my eyelids are a little saggy with age and has mini folds that makes it hard to draw lines across. The pigment is excellent, and the colour is an intense dark brown. It doesn't have a sharpness of a liquid eyeliner, so it's a bit difficult to draw a thin defined wing, but it works well for a softer line. I use it on my upper eyelid close to the lashline only. Despite the marketing claim that it is 'waterproof, smudge-resistant and fade-resistant' and lasts 'up to 36 hours', I did not find that was the case for me. There was still a bit of transfer to my under eye area after a few hours, though not as bad as the panda eyes that other eye pencils or crayons give me. Once I wipe that away with a cotton bud, it doesn't transfer any further. The line does stay mostly in tact and doesn't disappear. I suspect this eyeliner may well be 100% transfer-free for other people, it's just that most eyeliner and mascaras smudge on me. It comes in many colours and is so affordable.
