Manicare Exfoliating Back Scrubber

I've been using the Manicare Exfoliating Back Scrubber in my shower to scrub my back since my husband never offers (lol). It's made from recycled polyester and the corded handles are made from organic cotton yarn, even the plastic packaging is recyclable. Its made in China. When I'm ready to use it, I wet it then pour a little shower gel on it before working up a slight lather. It does work well but for it to be effective I need to round my shoulders so it gets the bits between my shoulder blades before working it back and forth, from the top of my shoulders to the base of my spine. Also, if you are a larger framed person (like me) you'll find your elbows hiting shower walls and curtains. Once rinsed, I hang it over a tap or on the shower frame and amazingly its dry the next day ready to use again. The texture of the material is good, abrasive enough to work away the dead skin cells but not so rough that my back is scrubbed raw. On the packaging it recommends replacement every three to six months which kind of negates the sustainably sourced materials statement if you are having to replace it every three to six months with more sustainably sourced materials. I actually don't see any need to replace it regularly if it still looks good and smells fine.

I love getting into my groove when I’m in the shower now that I have this back scrubber not a inch of my body gets missed! Soft organic cotton handles make the scrubber really easy to hold. In the shower I apply body wash and then I just told both ends behind my back gently using side to side and up and down motions where the recycled polyester that makes up the back scrubber gently cleans, removes build up, dead skin cells and dirt from my back. The back scrubber also stretches which makes this so easy to reach the hard to get places. My skin is left feeling clean, soft and smooth ready for moisturiser application or the perfect prep for tan. To finish I give it a rinse, wring it out a little then hang it up next to the bathroom window to hygienically dry. I definitely recommend this back scrubber and will continue using it as it is the best one I’ve used.

This is one of those products that I didn't know that I needed, but it has been so useful in the shower. It looks like a flat piece of loofah but it's made from recycled polyester. There are two hand loops, one of each end, so you can easily put each hand in each end and stretch it across your back. It feels quite scratchy at first but better once softened with water. It creates a good lather with shower gel. You can also scrunch it up to do the other parts of your body like arms and legs. It provides a good back scratch and has an exfoliating effect. I always have trouble reaching my upper back and this product fixes that problem. I just wish it was ever so slightly softer so that I can use it everyday. It can be rinsed with water and left to drip dry in the shower and re-used. Manicare recommends replacement every 3-6 months.

I have always found it hard to scrub my back unless my hubby is home and on hand so it rarely gets done, until I got to trial this. After opening I jumped into the shower and was impressed with the feel of the material and size of the back scrubber. With soft organic cotton handles on each end attached to the mesh like material (certified recycled polyester) you can use it more narrow or folded out to cover more surface area. After wetting my body i simply apply some body wash to the meshed material part, held one handle in one hand and holding behind my back I grab the other handle then gently start from my lower back gently moving the scrubber back and forth to the top of my back and vice versa. The mesh material felt nice and firm which is what I like as it feels like it is doing something good to my skin. After using I simply rinsed it in warm water and gave it a squeeze, then hang it up on a hook in the bathroom with the window left open to let it dry. My back feels nice and soft and exfoliated after using. As it is so simple to use I will not be neglecting my back anymore and will continue to use and purchase the Manicare Exfoliating Back Scrubber again.

I haven't used a product like this to exfoliate my skin before and it did take a few uses for me to get use to the feeling because I found the material quite scratchy on my skin. After I got use to it I grew to really enjoy using it in the shower. I make sure I use this with some body wash on it as this helps the scrubber to move around more easily on my skin. I found the size of the back scrubber to be very generous and comfortable to use and I found that once I hang it up to dry on the hook of my shower caddy it dries by the next morning which is great as I was a bit worried it wouldn't dry in this Winter weather. After using this Manicare Exfoliating Back Scrubber for a few weeks now I've certainly noticed the skin on my back hasn't been as dry and flaky in the cold Winter weather and it definitely feels smoother because before this product came along I was trying to reach where I could with my loofah so I'm sure some of my back was being neglected. I also grew to love using this in the shower as it gives a massage at the same time as cleaning and exfoliating my back. It's great to see that the material is sustainably sourced too.
