Great hair pair

The brand make hydrate shampoo and conditioner is new to me and was so excited to try it out. I did find that the combination made my hair silky soft and definitely less frizzy than what it normally is which is amazing. The smell of the shampoo and conditioner did take some getting used to as it is prickly pear and was a bit of an odd smell. I really liked the design of the bottle, it was simple and minimalistic but effective. It is easy to get product out of the bottle and great for the shower as it doesn’t take a lot of space like some bottles. I like how this is an Australian made brand I think the only thing I would change is the smell as then it would have the whole package. (The conditioner is a lot thinner in consistency than most conditioners but found that it was easier to work in to my hair. )

Fab Australian product

The Make Hydrate Shampoo has a wonderfully cleansing formula that worked really well to leave me with clean and refreshed hair. The scent was really refreshing and unique too, the prickly pear seed oil is quite nice. I am so excited to use an Australian brand and extra points for making it a vegan product. The only downside I found was that my hair felt slightly dried out after rinsing, and following up with the Make Hydrate Conditioner is a must. As long as it’s used with the conditioner, it doesn’t feel dehydrated once my hair is dried.

My new favourite shampoo

I’ve been using the Make Hydrate Shampoo and it’s been a game-changer for my hair. It provides intense hydration to my dry hair, leaving it feeling incredibly soft and smooth after each wash. What I love the most is that it’s made with naturally and botanically-derived ingredients, so I can trust that I’m nourishing my hair with the best. Plus, it's vegan and animal cruelty-free, which aligns perfectly with my values. Free from parabens and sulphates, it offers a gentle yet effective cleanse without any harsh chemicals. Knowing that it's proudly Australian-made and owned just adds to its charm. If you’re looking for a hydrating shampoo that truly delivers and takes care of both your hair and the environment, the Make Hydrate Shampoo is definitely worth trying.

MAKE Hydrate Shampoo - Gentle and cleanses well

MAKE Hydrate Shampoo - Thank you very much to MAKE and Beauty Crew for including this product in the BeautyCrew VIP box. I am impressed by this shampoo so much - in fact, I think it's one of the two best shampoos I've tried in the past 12 months (and I've used quite many!) I have not heard of the brand MAKE before, and it's stocked in Hairhouse for $31.95 - so I'm expecting salon quality. This product did not disappoint me. The shampoo was thick in consistency, creamy and lathers really nicely. It cleanses very well. On most days I do not feel like a second shampoo was necessary (whereas for most other brands I usually do). Yet, it is very gentle on my hair. I love all hair products with prickly pear oil, which is one of the ingredients in this shampoo. The scent reminds me of Dove soap bar - and I say this in a good way, as I absolutely love that scent. Paired with the conditioner I feel my hair is hydrated and nourished. I also love the design of the sturdy bottle. I love the flat top because it means it can be stored upside down when the product level gets low. Thanks again to BeautyCrew for this lovely trial.

Not for me

Unfortunately this product didn’t work for me as I couldn’t get past the smell of it, for both the shampoo and conditioner. After using it, my hair didn’t feel any noticeably different when compared to other shampoos I have used in the past. It felt like any other generic product, and I didn’t notice a change in hydration. It was runny and didn’t lather up how I would like it to. The size is generous which is a plus however I will probably gift this or donate this product because the scent is too overbearing for me. I would reconsider using it if this changed in the future.

Hydration and strength in a bottle

After using Make Hydrate Shampoo for a few weeks, I’m impressed with how hydrating and strengthening it is. It’s a great choice for dry or damaged hair, leaving my strands softer, smoother, and less prone to breakage. One of my favourite things about this shampoo is its luxurious scent—fresh and indulgent without being overpowering. The formula includes prickly pear extract, and hyaluronic acid, which deeply hydrates and locks in moisture. Together, these ingredients make my hair feel nourished and resilient. This shampoo provides excellent moisture. It does feel a little heavy and thick when going on but it does lather well. My hair feels refreshed, soft, and frizz-free, making it a great choice for wavy, curly, or dry hair types. Overall, Make Hydrate Shampoo delivers on its promises. It’s nourishing, strengthening, and smells amazing. While it may not be for everyone, if you need extra hydration and love a luxurious shampoo experience, this is a great one that definitely needs to go on your personal wish list.

Strengthening and frizz reducing

Since using the Make Hydrate Shampoo in conjunction with the Conditioner my hair feels stronger and straighter. I have very long, thick, naturally straight hair which often feels dull and frayed, however this shampoo seems to have put a stop to that. I also tend to get a dry, itchy scalp which has all but stopped since using this range. This is the first product I have used that includes prickly pear, which is quite popular at the moment, and I can see why. While the shampoo doesn't have much of a scent (the best I can describe it as is a 'faint clinical' scent), the bottles are a great shape for the shower, and easy to use which is nice as I think that too often gets overlooked these days.  Being 100% Australian Made, vegan and formulated without sulphates, or parabens it is a great option for those looking for a shampoo that strengthens and helps to reduce frizz.

Kind and Hydrating

The MAKE Hydrate shampoo was a welcome addition to my shampoo collection. I am a little picky when it comes to shampoo because I hate it when a shampoo leaves my hair feeling brittle, dry and tangly. Because this shampoo is infused with Prickly Pear Seed Oil and Hyaluronic Acid, it doesn’t do that! The shampoo itself doesn’t foam up a lot like some others, but I hardly find that a problem. My hair is always left soft and manageable after a wash with this. Its also 100% Vegan and 100% Australian made. My one and only gripe is the scent. This shampoo doesn’t have a luxurious scent that can transport you on a tropical vacation but rather smells a bit like soap that you might find in a Travel Inn. Not a huge issue, It still smells clean, but I prefer a little escapism with my shower. Even so, I would recommend this shampoo to others looking for a simple, kind and hydrating shampoo.

Good everyday shampoo

I had never heard of the Make Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner before, but I am so glad I got to give it a try! The bottles have a simple, minimalist design, and easy to get the product out of. After use, my hair was left feeling hydrated, soft, and lustrous. These shampoo and conditioners smell amazing - and my hair smelled great for days after! I was getting compliments on the smell of my hair two or three days after use! I love that these products are Australian-made, and I also love that they use natural, botanically derived formulations too.

Not suitable for my hair type

Upon lifting the lid of the shampoo bottle, I could not get over how strong the scent was. Sadly it smelt like one of those bars of soaps you’d find in a hotel. It has a very thick and creamy consistency for a shampoo but put it down to it being a hydrating formula. I shampooed twice (as usual), yet found that my hair felt very weighed down. As someone that has gone back to their natural dark roots after being blonde for several years, I imagine my hair is extremely porous. The hydrating range would be best suited for thick and course hair.

Hydrated, clean hair

I recently tried the make Australia Hydrate Shampoo, and I’m seriously impressed! It’s packed with Hyaluronic Acid to deeply hydrate and lock in moisture, along with the Prickly Pear Seed Oil to strengthen strands while boosting gloss and shine. These ingredients help combat frizz and lock in shine-exactly what I need in my humid climate! The shampoo was easy to use - after gently lathering and massaging it in, my hair immediately felt hydrated. After rinsing, it felt nourished and clean. Loved it!
