La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Cream SPF 50+

I recently tried the La Roche-Posay Anthelios ultra Cream. It is a a sunscreen for normal to dry skin. It provides SPF 50+ broad-spectrum protection. The sunscreen is enriched with antioxidant baicalin to fight free radicals on the surface of the skin. It comes in a tube and is easy to dispense the liquid white cream. I felt it was a bit sticky for my liking especially when you layer it up with foundation and make up on hot sunny days. It does not have any strong fragrance and is parafeen free. It did get absorbed into the skin after a bit of applying. But its not something for me especially during summer.

I prefer a sunscreen that contains SPF 50+, is non-greasy, is clear once applied, has a lightweight consistency, is fast absorbing and is suitable for sensitive skin. The La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Cream SPF 50+ ticks all those boxes. The lightweight cream applies smoothly and evenly and dries fairly quickly with no visible film. No stickiness or greasy feeling - just comfortable feeling skin. I have fair which burns easily so using an effective high protection sunscreen is very important to me and the Ultra Cream has. Worked for me. I only use the Ultra Cream on my body because I use the Ultra Light on my face.

In the age of a beauty and wellness boom, 'the perfect sunscreen' has always been at the forefront of my google searches... but it wasn't until I gave this La Roche-Posay product a go that I really knew the search was over! Finding this sunscreen has meant that not only am I completely protected with it's 50+ formula, but it is such an enjoyable product (it has the best pump) I am super happy to wear sunscreen every single day. Thank you La Roche-Posay for formulating the perfect sunscreen!

BB creams are very problematic for me as they are either the wrong undertone (usually too pink) or way too dark for my light skin.  When I first dispensed a pump of product onto my hand, I was really worried this one was going to be way too dark because it has a lot of colour to it, but when applied with a light hand, it actually works.  Two ways I like to use this... First is blended with a bit of La Roche Posay Touleriane Ultra Light.  I use about a half pump of this combined with an equal amount of the Touleriane Ultra Light and that keeps my face hydrated and looking glowy and bronzed, but in a way that still looks totally natural for me.  However, using it in this way does diminish the SPF, which brings me to the second way I like to use it, which is pretty much the same as the first but replacing the Touleriane Ultra Light with Mecca’s To Save Face SPF50.  This ensures I get the full measure of SPF.  I like the first way during the cooler months and the second way is perfect for summer when I’m outdoors more.  Of all the BB creams I’ve tried, this one is my favourite.  It isn’t perfect (I don’t think I’ll ever find one that is perfect for me), but it is absolutely something I can work with.

This is the only sunscreen i have used that doesn't give me a scaly, dermatitis-like rash near my eyes after daily use. Even foundations and moisturises with SPF left me looking a little lizard-like.  I was hesitant at first as tinted products tend to look slightly orange on me, but it blends well and barely shows, even without makeup.  i would highly recommend for anyone, whether they have sensitive skin, or not. 

Love, love, love this sunscreen. I love that it’s 50+for super protection and love the fact that it’s not thick and gunky like most 50+ products. It sinks in well, I have found a lot of high protection sunscreens sit on skin with a white ugly film, this doesn’t do that. It’s perfect for those with sensitive skin as it causes no irritation. It feels really light and comfortable to wear, there is no nasty stickiness and it doesn’t make my face look oily either. I love the packaging, the handy tube is perfect for my handbag and the pump is easy to use, dispenses just the right amount of product and means no mess. It’s a little pricier than some sunscreens but I feel for the results it’s worth it. I love that it’s not oily, has no fragrance or Parabens and gives awesome sun protection. I never burn when using this. I would buy this product again and highly recommend it.

The La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Cream SPF 50+ is made in France and comes in a very convenient size tube with pump bottle and lid. The pump bottle is really easy to use and a good amount of product comes out. The texture is on the lighter side of similar creams that I have used and it spreads easily and evenly across my skin, which is what you want for good sun protection. This cream was used when travelling and was perfect for any size bag or pocket and protects very well when mixed with sport and perspiration. I didn't have any issues with sensitivity or breakouts.  I like the packaging as it is bright coloured and tells you all the facts straight away: 50+ SPF, UVB + UVA Antioxidant, Formulated for Sensitive Eyes, non-perfumed. The instructions on the back are clear and easy to read as well and even come with pictures if your English isn't the strongest.  The two things I would change with this product if I could are:  1. the smell of the cream - although it says non-perfumed, it reminds me of a clinical smell which I do not find pleasant 2. it contains Ethanol, which I usually like to avoid  All in all, this is a really good sunscreen that I trust to protect my skin and I especially found the size very handy and it has lasted me a long time. 

I love this sunscreen. It suits my skin, and gives me the protection I need, without feeling heavy or clogging my pores. I have sensitive skin, that can break out easily. This one does its job, and I love my skin when its on! If you are looking for a high SPF sunscreen, you can give this one a go, hopefully, ending your search!

Love this cream.  I’ve been using it for many years now.  Great texture and high spf.  I use it daily.  Perfect for my sensitive skin, it has a great texture and doesn’t clog my pores or cause breakouts.  It’s my go to product every morning whatever the weather.

I have sensitive skin and so many sun screen products give me a rash or dry out my skin. A friend put me on to this wonderful brand and I haven’t looked back since. I bought La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Cream SPF 50+ and used it in Italy where is was very hot and I was swimming everyday. Not too thick, not too greasy or shiny and it was easy to blend in. Definitely stopped me from burning. And it seemed to let my freckles still shine though, which I like.

I get dark pigmentation of the skin on my face, to help combat it I wear this product over my moisturiser and under my foundation. It sounds like a lot on I’m your face but I just love how great this is. It’s not oily and does not feel like an extra layer. Most of all it has worked to keep dark pigmentation at bay. I want to try all their products now! Highly recommended his to keep your skin safe from the sun.

This sunscreen has SPF 50 which is much needed for the summer months and it is formulated for sensitive and try skin which is perfect for me. The sunscreen has a lightweight texture which dries down nicely without any greasy or tackiness on skin. It doesn't block my pore or cause congestion to my skin and it doesn't interfere with my foundation which is a big deal for me as I wear makeup daily.

This is an awesome SPF 50+ sunscreen, perfect in size for great portability and also great for someone with sensitive skin. The product applies well and absorbs quickly, without leaving an oily sheen. What's also positive is that the cream is quite light and pleasanty fragranced, it's not too perfumey.

I love this BB cream - the shade gets nicely blended with my skin-tone, not too greasy and good amount of sun protection. I love that for non-makeup days - which is almost everyday for me, except special occasions. While it is easy to apply creamy formula, it isn't creamy enough to be used on it's own. It requires nicely prepped and well moisturized skin - extra hydration if your skin is dry, I imagine - mine is oily combination type. Little doesn't go long way, which I think is only good because this way I can apply a generous amount and be sure that my skin is sunsafe. There is no particular fragrance or smell to this product, so quite nice and mild from that perspective. Overall, beautiful BB cream - more suitable for summer than dry winter weather.

I have tried so many face sunscreens and all promising not to clog pores and not to feel heavy and always seem to clog my pores and give me breakouts, well this one delivers!  It’s not greasy or thick and a little pump can cover your whole face so don’t let the small bottle fool you.

This sunscreen is great. It does not create any sort of ashy hue under make up and I found it to be very effective. I really like the packaging especially the pump top which is great. That being said, a little does not go a long way. By that I mean, this is face only.

This sunscreen is amazing! Unlike most thick sunscreens, this one didn't leave a white colour on my face. It feels fairly lightweight even though it has full coverage. It also made my skin feel really soft and hydrated. I didn't burn in the sun and I noticed my pigmentation wasn't as dark coming out of the sun. Definitely recommend this if you're looking for a high quality sunscreen.

I bought this sunscreen not for my self but for a friend overseas who had allergies and swore by this make.  I think it is an excellent product and do try some myself.  It is light goes on easily and great for wearing with or without makeup.  It has a distinct smell which is problematic when its no one you actually feel comfortable with.  It is useful for using on one's face but that is the limit.  I also thing that the sizing is meagre with respect to the price and the need in humid climates to keep reapplying throughout the day.

I love this sunscreen. The pump is easy to use and the tube is easy to carry in my bag. The product was great to rub into my skin and felt very light and comfortable to wear. I can't comment on the efficacy of the cream because I have very pale skin and tend to stay out of the sun and cover up. Despite all the good things going for this, the price is too much for me. I do recommend this though to anyone with pale skin and burns very easily.

This product is a fantastic alternative to your every day sunscreen. Not only does it protect your skin but is paraben free and “formulated for sensitive eyes”. I have sensitive skin and so I am always cautious of products that I apply. This one felt smooth to apply and I only needed a small amount to cover my face. Great product to keep in your bag, if you wanted something on-the-go!
