When it comes to wedding planning, Pinterest is the ultimate, most magical place for inspiration. With over four billion wedding ideas, it offers a never-ending trove of possibilities, regardless of your vision, budget or even relationship status.
Thanks to Pinterest’s 2018 Wedding Report, we now also know exactly which hairstyles and makeup looks will be gracing brides worldwide.
And the statistics did not disappoint - it seems 2018 is all about going back to basics, with brides embracing a more laidback and natural beauty look on their wedding day.
According to the report, messy updos are the go-to wedding hairstyle of the moment, racking up a whopping 1247 per cent of searches, likes and pins. And we can totally see why - this no-fuss hairstyle is both chic and elegant, plus it keeps your tresses neatly out of the way while you bust a move on the d-floor. Polished AND practical.
Hair combs also topped the list at +89 per cent while those who preferred to let their hair down ditched the bobby pins and hair clips for a classic look with soft waves and side parts (up 55 per cent).
In terms of makeup, Pinterest predicts that this year a refined, natural look is top of the wish list with brides opting for neutral makeup and luminous, glowing skin. Interestingly, the statistics also showed that instead of reaching for a long-wearing lipstick, most brides are choosing to wear a lip gloss for their big day (searches are up by 459 per cent) and a slick of barely-there shine (+343 per cent).
However if there’s one feature where bride-to-bes are going all out, it’s with their eyelashes. It looks like long, luscious lashes are having a major moment (seeing an increase of 152 per cent) – and for good reason. Whether it be with the help of lash extensions or a simple swipe of volumising mascara, it’s the easiest way to draw attention to your peepers.
