Pinterest has predicted the next big makeup colour
It will up the drama on your neutral makeup look
It will up the drama on your neutral makeup look
We’ve seen makeup trends like crazy graphic eyes, colour wash eyeshadow and striking blue liner take over the red carpet in recent months, but Pinterest has revealed there’s set to be new beauty trend taking over this coming season: mauve makeup.
Pinterest’s prediction for the up and coming shade comes after a recent 170 per cent rise in mauve eyeshadow and nail polish searches on the social media platform. It seems a few of our favourite celebrities are already ahead of the curve, having shown off this makeup colour trend recently. Whether you’re up for a dramatic version, or are happy to stick to something subtle, there’s plenty of ways to wear the trendiest colour of the season.
Taylor Hill
Victoria’s Secret angel and model of the moment, Taylor Hill, showed off the most dramatic way to wear the colour. She paired a highly pigmented mauve eyeshadow with a subtle liner and mascara-coated top lashes. The model’s bottom lashes were almost bare, which further upped the drama on her look. Her middle part and subtle lip were the perfect pared-back complement.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
The ever-glamorous Rosie Huntington Whiteley opted for a much more subtle look, taking a lighter version of the mauve eyeshadow shade up high towards her brows and under her lower lash line to create the illusion of bigger eyes. The addition of a subtle liner on her lid and a pinky lip colour ensured her gorgeous eye makeup was still the standout.
Jenna Dewan Tatum
Jenna Dewan Tatum proves that sometimes complementing your makeup and accessory colours can have an incredible payoff – especially when you’re wearing the most on-trend colour of the season. The actress and dancer paired a deep red toned lip with a dramatic mauve eye and matching earrings. Her brushed-up brows and fluttery eyelashes were kept simple so the smoky mauve shade could steal the show.
Pinterest has also predicted 2017’s biggest hair trends, and the good news is, they’re so low maintenance.
