Are you over ordinary oral care? These aesthetic options are changing the game...
You know that tube of crumbled toothpaste that's sitting crumpled in your bathroom cabinet rn? We bet it's not looking too chic now is it? Yep, that's what we thought. And TBH for the most part, talking about dental health just isn't the chicest topic (plaque is a word that gives us chills).
But what if oral care didn't have to constantly tip way over the wrong side of the aesthetically pleasing line? Well it's time to get used to the new norm and get ready for some seriously pleasing bathroom shelves, because there's some totally pretty oral care brands out here and we're putting a spot light on them to shine.
Oh and also, this is your reminder to book in a check up...
Dental Health Week
Okay, we'll get to the pretty things in a moment, we promise. But first, we're here to give dental health a stage to shine (almost as bright as your pearly whites).
Dental Health Week 2024 in Australia runs from the 5th to the 11th of August and aims to give everyone a reminder that oral care is equally as important as your self-care rituals. We spoke with two experts in the field to find out more: Dr Corbin Barry (BDS), Founder and Director of Sage Space, and Dr Gamer Verdian, Co-Founder of Dental Lounge, both shared the same sentiment when asked what they wanted people to know.
'Prevention is key' was the overall message. And while it can be costly or even uncomfortable to make the twice-yearly visits, both doctors agreed it's what's best for your overall oral care. Dr Verdian spoke on the necessity of the regularly as it helps to "catch potential issues early before they become major problems" which leads perfectly to Dr Barry's point of "focus on preserving your natural teeth".
Why is oral care so important?
"Oral care is crucial because the mouth serves as the gateway to our body" Dr Barry shared with BEAUTYcrew. And again, in the same vein, both doctors echoed one another.
"What happens in the mouth has affects all over our bodies" is the sentiment Dr Verdian shared.
So, basically what we're realising is that sure it's not chic, but it's seriously necessary. Floss your teeth people! Because aside from ensuring a fresher, cleaner mouth, keeping up a good system of twice-daily brushing, flossing and mouth washing, will prove positive for your whole wellbeing.
Um, major news. So, let's see what seriously aesthetic brands and going to transform your shelves and your oral care routines...
Aesthetic Oral Care
Gem Oral Care
Look, we're not being funny, but Gem Oral Care have seriously changed the course of our oral care aesthetics. And we're forever grateful to founder Georgia Geminder for feeling the same way we did about old school oral health brands: mid.
Not only does Gem look incredible in your bathroom (um, look at it), but they've even gone and changed up the flavour game too. So, if mint is so not your thing, try one of their other fruity flavours instead! Oh and don't let the aesthetics fool you, these products are still packed with all the much-needed dental health must-haves, just no nasties. Because why? Dental health is non-negotiable.

Smilie
You know what one of our favourite things is? Kits that don't hog all the space. Yep, we need that space and so when whiting out teeth a simple little mouth piece and some easy-to-apply pens makes the world of difference. Especially when they're super simplistic and will fit in with the bathroom aesthetic.
You can find the Smilie Teeth Whitening Kits at: Smilie (duh)
Polished London
Not sure about you, but this glittering mouthwash is up there as one of the most mesmerising things we've ever seen. And you best bet it'll have a prime spot in full view on the bathroom shelf. And much like the enchanting mouthwash, the rest of the brand's packaging follows the same silver, white and black minimalist vibes.

Aesthetic Dental Spaces
Sage Space
Honestly, looking at Sage Space, you can hardly recognise it as a dentist. With its beautiful interiors, Sage Space stands apart. Dr Barry realised "that dentistry was lagging behind other industries in creating memorable and enjoyable experiences, it was always such a chore for people to go" so that's when he made the choice to "design a space that felt warm and comforting" and you know, actually encouraged people to "prioritise their preventative dental needs".
Basically, Sage Space aligns wellness with rituals and ensures people are comfortable in the space to actually put their health first.
Dental Lounge
Dr Verdian made the decision to make an aesthetic Dental Lounge rather than a clinic for a few reasons. But mainly the "spa-like space feels more inviting, comfortable and luxurious" which then works to help "patients feel relaxed and cared for" right from the get go.
But don't be fooled, it's not just pretty and aesthetic for the sake of it. Dr Verdian assured BEAUTYcrew that the aesthetics reflect their "commitment to high-quality care and attention to detail". And that care comes down to not only dentistry but also wellness. Creating a space that "promotes relaxation and confidence" is key to his dental approach.
