NYFW delivered *this* cute hair scarf trend just in time for summer
And it’s an absolute cinch to copy
If you thought silk hair scarves were so last year, think again.
We just spotted a brand new way to style the trusty silk hair scarf at Jonathan Cohen’s show at New York Fashion Week Spring 2020, and we‘ve got an inkling this trend is going to be HUGE this summer.
Check it out:
Gorgeous, right?! It’s the perfect way to jazz up an otherwise-plain hairstyle AND keep your hair back during the hot summer months.
Plus, the look couldn’t be easier to recreate. Here are our top tips:
#1 / Centre part your hair and secure it in a low ponytail at the nape of your neck.
#2 / Grab a long, rectangular scarf (slim, twilly shapes work well) and knot your scarf once around the base of your ponytail.
#3 / Next you’re going to do a three-strand plait as you ordinarily would, however there’s one key difference: treat each side of the scarf as a sections of hair. In other words, you’ve got two scarf sections and one hair section (your entire ponytail).
#4 / Secure the end of your plait using a hairband.
#5 / Wrap the scarf to disguise your hairband and secure the scarf ends in a knot, leaving the ends loose à la Jonathan Cohen!
How easy is that?!
