Not only do they last way longer than a spritz to your neck or wrist, but some of the new kids on the block come with benefits for your hair, too. One of our faves? Frederic Malle Alber Elbaz Superstitious Hair Mist. And before you ask, yes, it’s just as luxe as the perfume! With notes of vetiver and incense mixed with lighter notes of peach and rose, it’s seductive, charming and oh so elegant.

Parisian fragrance house Diptyque completely changed the game with a new type of long-lasting fragrances in the form of brooches and bracelets (they’ve even released some perfumed skin stickers!). Inspired by Renaissance pomanders, Diptyque’s Perfumed Brooch boasts a one-month perfume diffusion (it has an encapsulated perfumed ceramic) and the gilded metal bird with movable legs brooch is just the cutest thing we’ve ever seen. Diptyque’s Perfumed Bracelet can diffuse perfume for one week (you get six metres of bracelet in a dispenser, along with a gold-plated clasp to lock the bracelet in place). This would have to be the chicest way to wear perfume.

Say hello to your on-the-go staple. We love travel-friendly perfume pens because they make life so much easier and they carry exactly the same scent as your favourite fragrance in a bottle. Small enough to keep in your handbag, you simply paint the scent onto your wrists and neck and go. For you YSL fans, Black Opium Shine On Click & Go is going to be your new bestie. Not only does it smell amazing (coffee notes are contrasted with the soft sensuality of vanilla and white flowers), but the glitter design adds that touch of glam everyone needs in their life.

While it’s been around forever (like, we’re talking since the Egyptians), solid perfume palettes are back in a big way, with some of the biggest fragrance brands getting in on the trend. The pint-sized pods are not only perfectly Instagrammable, but they’re great for touch-ups and micro-purses. While there are many brands with ready-made pairings, Narrative Lab offers solid fragrances that can be layered to create a completely custom scent based on personal preferences. Narrative Lab has six customisable solid perfumes, each broken down into three parts: a base version, a subtle version, and an intense version.

Your bath routine just got a whole lot better thanks to the luxurious range of bath oils getting around. Great for dry and dehydrated skin, they cleanse and delicately perfume the skin for smooth, soft skin and a lasting scent. Our current fave? Dior J’adore Bath and Shower Oil. It’s enriched with the hydrating properties of ylang ylang essential oil, which works to soothe and moisturise the skin while leaving an intense fragrance trail.

A deodorant that doubles as a fragrance - why haven’t we thought of this before?! They’re back, baby! While body sprays aren’t exactly a new innovation, they’ve been off the scene for a while, so we think this revival is definitely worth celebrating. If you were a nineties teen, this would’ve been your favourite way to wear a fragrance back in the day (hello, Impulse). Thanks to a bunch of new launches, body sprays are slowly making their way back into your fragrance wardrobe. And we’re not even mad about it. Offering a softer concentration than a traditional perfume, body sprays typically feature a smaller price tag to match. We love Tom Ford Neroli Portofino All-Over Body Spray – it perfectly captures the essence of summer (the cool breezes; the sparkling clear water) and as the weather warms up, it is a serious must-have in our books.
