Maria Thattil just debuted a new blonde 'do

And she's been named Wella's new Ambassador

Content Producer / July 30 2024

PSA: The stunning and talented Maria Thattil (AKA former Miss Universe Australia) has just been named as a Wella Ambassador. And we're so excited, a) because Thattil is a bona fide beauty icon and b) she just debuted a new 'do for the occasion.

Of course, making a big splash for such a huge event is daunting, but in this new role Thattil is "unafraid to do the daring thing".

"Hair, or the lack thereof, is a deeply significant thing. It’s personal, political, powerful. Mine is my crown. A vehicle to tell the world who I am without saying a word." And her new hair colour speaks volumes.

“I’m thrilled to be part of the Wella family, I’ve used Wella products and colour in my hair for the last seven years so there’s a real connection to the brand and I’ve been a Wella Woman for a while – I’m so excited to unveil it officially!”

Maria Thattil brunette to blonde hair transformation

Call us fickle, but a hair transformation is one of our favourite things to witness, there's just something so freeing about it. Add in the fact that Thattil has taken her strands from a dark brown to a warm blonde tone that's giving us major Jessica Alba in Honey vibes and we're totally sold. Actually, do we need to book in an appointment? Maybe.

Thankfully, Thattil was in amazing hands with Wella Professionals and hair colourist Marie Uva who prioritised hair health in Thattil's transformation journey.

Want to know how they did it? Of course! Here's what we know so far...

The exact product's Maria Thattil's hairstylist used to transform her into a blonde

Currently, Marie Uva and the Wella Professionals team are keeping the exact colour details of Thattil's new fresh tone under wraps, but we're sure we'll be able to update you on them soon. But we can share the trio of Wella Professional products that totally transformed her tresses.

To give Thattil's strands that warm blonde hue Uva used a mix of the Wella Illumina and Wella Blondorplex 9 ($70 at SSS Hairdyes. And because the dying process can be super drying, Uva provided Thattil's strands with some much-needed TLC with a mix of the Wella Professionals Ultimate Repair Miracle Rescue ($48 at Adore Beautyfollowed by the Wella Professionals Ultimate Repair Protect Leave-in ($56 at Adore Beauty).

And of course, because the mane-management doesn't stop there, Thattil was sent home with the Wella Professionals Ultimate Repair Shampoo ($48 at Adore Beauty) and Conditioner ($48 at Adore Beauty) to make the most of her salon-perfect colour.
