2 genius makeup tricks we learnt from Margot Robbie’s 2019 BAFTAs look
And they're SO easy to do
Margot Robbie has a talent for walking the line between bold and elegant with her beauty choices. And her look for the 2019 BAFTAs was no exception.
While blue eyeliner has been popping up here and there over the last couple of years, Margot gave the trend her own unique twist with a glossy finish. And we can’t wait to give it a go.
Margot’s go-to makeup artist, Pati Dubroff, shared a close-up of Margot’s makeup look in all its glossy glory. While she hasn’t revealed the exact products she used, we know it was a mix of CHANEL products, so our guess is the blue eyeliner was probably CHANEL Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in 924 Fervent Blue. It’s a vibrant cobalt blue shade with a metallic sheen and waterproof formula.
To get that wet-look finish, we suspect a clear lip balm was gently dabbed over the liner and lids. Try Lanolips 101 Ointment – it’s 100 per cent natural and free from fragrances so it won’t irritate your eyes. Dab it all the way up to the brow bone for a highlighting effect.
The look was completed with blue mascara, which let’s all agree was next-level stunning. But take note, because Margot did something else unique here. Notice how she’s applied a blue mascara on the inner lashes (top and bottom) but a black mascara on the outer edges? The contrast creates major definition around her eyes and we are so going to steal this hack for ourselves.
To get a similar look, we recommend swiping Sephora Collection Volume On Mascara in Navy Blue on your inner lashes, and your go-to black mascara on the outer corner.
We can definitely see this look fitting right in on beach-to-bar nights, paired with textured waves. Who’s with us?
Do you like this glossy eyeliner look? Would you try it in blue or opt for black instead?
