Your guide to submitting a review on Beauty Crew

When it comes to buying beauty products, there’s no better way to find out if it’s worth the splurge than hearing what other people have said about it. 

So where do you go when your mum/sister/best friend hasn’t actually tried the product in question? Reviews. And that’s where you come in. 

Beauty Crew is building up its database of beauty products, and we’d love to hear what you think about the products you’ve tried, so we’ve got a quick and easy run-down of how you can do that.

Click on 'Login/Register' at the top right corner. You can either create an account using your social media account, or your email address. 

Note: If you create an account with social media, it may automatically pull your first name and surname, and this will be posted on your reviews. If you’d prefer to leave out your surname, or substitute with an initial, once logged in, click on ‘Account’, edit your name, then hit ‘Save’.

Click on the ‘Products' tab on the top navigation bar. This is where you'll find the ever-growing database of beauty products that you can review.

Note: If you'd prefer to find your products based on category, you can hover over each category tab at the top, and select 'Products', and that will take you to all of the products in that category.

You can refine the products by category, or by brand. If you’d like to find lipsticks from a particular brand, first narrow down the field, then select the brand. If you’ve got a favourite brand, just filter by the brand to find the products in that range.

Once you’ve clicked on the product you’d like to review, scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says ‘Write review’. 

In line with your name, you’ll see some grey stars. Hover your mouse over the grey stars to reveal the pink ones and click when you’re satisfied with the star rating you’d like to give the product. 

Next, write your review of the product. Here are some tips for writing a review: 

- How does the product feel, look or smell?
- How does it make your face, body, or hair when applied?
- How does it make your face, body, or hair look once used?
- What were your initial thoughts after using the product?
- What are your thoughts after using the product for a few days or weeks?
- What are the pros? Are there any cons?
- Who would you recommend use this product? 

We’re looking for honest and useful recaps of your experience of using the product and the results you found while and after using it, so if you cover that, that’s enough for us.

Once you’ve written your review, hit 'Post'. We moderate our reviews, so don’t worry if you don’t see it up there straight away. Positive or negative, we’re just checking that it will be useful to others.
